I didn't bring SU in to this. One of your SU trolling posters did. Both team averaged 33 PPG last season and UND scored a ton vs. a poor Valpo team. I'm just calling out the "mediocre" comment. Stats are deceiving especially when you spin them as you want. I wouldn't consider either ND school's offense mediocre, but SU's stellar D helps out their offense more than UND's...at least the past couple years.
-
Stats make both ND schools look compariable offensively. Plain and simple.
-
Not even an argument to be made with that last statement, but the guy could do push-ups like Jack Lalanne...minus the juicer!
-
This...^^^^^^ You swap defenses on the 2 teams last season and UND averages 40+ PPG and NDSU around 24-27 PPG. It would be about a TD swing in both directions IMO. That tells you how good and bad both defenses were last year.
-
Lose all 3 this month I see ZERO chance they beat EWU and you can't expect them to go undefeated on the road...so 6-5 is at best what you are looking at. Yipee!!! IMO the next 2 game will determine the rest of this season. A loss vs. SDSU, a playoff team, won't tank the season but coupled w a loss to the Griz with the Cats to follow...Yikes.
-
So IF we go 0-3 this month vs. the Big 3 on our schedule, Muss gets a pass again for another year?
-
But they don't because they are in different conference! You can only play the teams that are scheduled. But I guess 33>>>>33.5 in the remedial math classes offered at the AC! Again...really slow for you AC people...the term "mediocre" was thrown out by one of you AC clowns. By the numbers I guess both offenses are mediocre...problem is our D stinks!
-
UND averaged 33.5 PPG last season. NDSU 33 PPG last year. Not arguing with your statement above but 33.5 or 33 PPG at the FCS level isn't mediocre.
-
So do both MT schools and EWU, but at some point UND has to win a couple of these games to take a step forward. Close losses/moral victories or going "toe to toe" has to stop being an excuse at some point for this program.
-
Don't forget great hockey mind as well!! "as of late" takes into account the last 2 seasons as well. Again "mediocre" to describe UND's O by a Bison fan is an overstatement.
-
Point is if you think UND's offense is "mediocre"...how would you classify NDSU's or for that matter most of the MVC teams??? I have watched enough FCS FB as well as SU FB to understand SU's success as of late has been inspite of it's offense.
-
You must be talking about a Bison intrasquad scrimmage.
-
Cue the music to Bette Midler's lyrics "Did you ever know that you're my hero"!!!
-
Hope rings eternal at least thru Saturdays game...31-27 Sioux. But I could see UND getting beat by 2+ TDs too.
-
A&M beat Bama last year and Johnny FB was in their grills most of the game jawing. Up by 14-21 and late in the game, I could see it happening.
-
Watched the local sports during the 10 pm newscast last night on TV. First segment was Bohl on this weekend's game. 2nd was Muss on this weekend's game. Stark contrast on how they present themselves and carry themselves and communicate. Just an observation...
-
What's the over/under he gets completely laid out after the whistle during the 'Bama game???
-
4-2 has to be at worst the record thru 6 games IMO especially w 4 of next 5 at home. Throw in Sac St at home in game 7 and 5-2 should be realistic.
-
I was thinking the same thing yesterday. How times have changed!
-
I think it's a fair spread in favor of the Jacks. UND gets -3 for playing at home so -15 if played at SDSU and would be -12 if on neutral field. They are #6 in nation and a playoff team last year. Now if I were to bet I'd probably take UND and the 9 cause I'm wanting a W!
-
I think your summary above is very likely. UND will not win a track meet/shootout type game. They have to run the ball some and stop the run some. If both those things don't happen, I don't think UND will stay within 2 TDs. I am optimistic that the D can't be a bad as last year, especially vs. the run, and will give this team a fighting chance thru September. I hope I'm wrong as well on the potential outcome.
-
Starts at the top with the HC and trickles down. Bohl truly gets it. Muss???...will see after 9/28. I will set the over/under on how many times Muss removes his headset and runs his fingers thru his hair during Saturday's game at 36 though!
-
No one has said that...but at this stage for Muss another 6-5 season won't be palatable for most FB fans around here & co-champs of the GW banner doesn't go far anymore!!
