UND lost by an average margin of 22 PPG last year...all against FCS teams. This is vs. a FBS team and is being played on the road ...albeit not a good FBS team. If UND keeps this within 14 I'd be surprised. This team will get much better as the year goes along but not going to drink the Kool-Aid just yet.

Fair analysis...but what is fact is Bubba wanted these games next year and in 2019. You might not like it, this obviously is fact as well, but for this program to transition out of the Muss debacle these games are a step in the right direction for a vast majority of Sioux fans and alum. I'm not a big Faison fan but this isn't a Faison issue. The FB program at UND is looked apon as a joke right now...IMO Bubba sees that and is willing to take a risk to change that perception. Good for him. Winning one of these 2 games or both will completely change the dynamic of scheduling the games between the 2 schools. If UND gets their butts handed to them in both games vs. NDSU and makes little progress in the BS conference by 2019...not sure Bubba will have much say on anything FB related at that point anyways.

Somebody else gets it...good to see. Hopefully gone are the days of selling the "toe to toe" BS after a complete a** kicking, constant excuse making and poor coaching in general. Bubba wasn't close to my top choice to succeed Muss but I'm behind him, his program and his willingness to shed the "Jan Brady" label of college FB in this state.

Of ones I have seen personally in a UND sweater, my top 3...Parise>Hrkac>Toews. One player that didn't get his due and still doesn't among one of the best IMO is Dixon Ward.

That goes out the window IMO if UND wins in 2019 or both games.

Regardless of opinion as to whether the games should have been scheduled or not...they are. Since the games were officially announced on the schedule for '15 and '19 and living in Fargo here is what I have encountered... I have golfed twice w the 2 same SU season ticket holders and boosters which at no point in our conversations of college FB did they talk about anything else but next years game vs. UND. Nothing about this year's schedule/games at all. Went supper at BWW Friday w another SU season ticket holder and his family. All he wanted to talk about was the same thing...next years game. He did mentioned at they very end they decide to go to ISU. Those 3 mentioned losing next year's game would be "devastating", "an embarrassment", and "season changing". No rivalry here. Carry on...

I'd take your hypothetical scenario next year or in '19 in a second.

Was at the game. UND completely out played. Shots 16-5 SU. Corner kicks 6 SU none for UND. SU controlled possession thru out. UND lacked speed up front and got almost no offensive pressure. SU goal was on a defensive miscue. UND coach was in suit and tie though...classy attire.

Any doubt that makes the bulletin board in the UND locker room? It will be a huge task but I'll say this again, the game next fall could completely swings the tables from a respect, scheduling and perception standpoint if UND wins. Win the game next fall, say "thanks but no thanks to 2019" and see what happens........... This progam desperately needs to win a game that is relevant...I don't see that happening this year. That's why I'm excited about the prospect of the game next year.

I keep reading about the "respect" UND deserves...NDSU is the 3 time defending NC and UND is coming off a stellar 3 win season. Earning respect has to start somewhere, it isn't just given...2015 is that chance.

There is always a Jan Brady until "she" gets fed up and b*tch slaps Marsha. The opportunity for UND to change that label comes next fall. If you like being Jan...cheer for St. Cloud's hockey program!

This is exactly what a buddy and I were just texting a few minutes ago. Then who is in the driver's seat from a negotiating standpoint! All it takes it one victory next year in Fargo to turn the tables completely around. Tough task...yes. Worth making the trip...absolutely.

I'm sure the community of GF and the alumni of UND would much rather have Valpo, Stetson or Davidson come to town to fill next year's open date......................

It is a rivalry that has great tradition. Regardless of where the 2 games are bring played I'm glad to see it is being rekindled. UND will be given an opportunity to change the college FB mindset of this state next year...who within that program wouldn't want a shot at that. And somewhere right now that egomaniac JA GT is pulling out his hair.............
