MN and UW both oddly absent early on...I'm suspecting they'll land a few of those top players remaining. Hopefully we're in the mix for a couple of them too.

Prob just in on Lawrence from today's commits. I'm more interested to see where Berchild, Beuker, McKamey, Zajic, Bumgarner, and local skilled players like Kuehne/Hale/Johnson end up. Those are the players we're probably more "in" on than many of today's commits...and probably have better chances at landing (hopefully).

That one is a bummer. He took a visit here as well.

Denver gets 6'7" dman Sean Burick. Kid is huge. Luke Schairer to BU. Another big get for BU. MSU with a trio of recruits on day one with Brody George, Chase Reid, and Jonas Kemps. Zachary Nyman to Michigan. Huge huge get for them. He has the potential to be the next Lane Hutson. Michigan always reloading.

Agreed. Seems that most of the first day/first week commits are the players that have been dead-set on a certain school for awhile.

Spirko still trucking along in pro hockey...pretty impressive. He's one of many that I wish we could have gotten another season out of...

Three incoming freshmen are playing in the World Junior Summer Showcase right now. Swanson (1st line center) and Emery (2nd D pairing) are on Team USA White and Strathmann (3rd D pairing) is on Team USA Blue. Both Swanson and Strathmann were getting PP time. Swanson got an assist on Day 1.

Duluth and UND are travel partners. And the NCHC already did allow St Thomas into the league.

Sounds like he'll be playing NTDP this fall...

With August 1st right around the corner and the fun begins:

I'm currently in the UP with the family and we visited LSSU today (my wife graduated from there). Wandered into their rink...there was no one in sight and everything was open, so we were able to check it all out. Not a bad little barn, reminds me of the Old Ralph a bit. I could see it being a fun atmosphere if the student section was rocking. Showing it's age a bit though, I could see it not being too easy to recruit higher end players here. Fun visit though!

Dang that’s a sad turn of events. That’s too bad, wonder what happened as it sounded like he stayed at UMD the spring semester and practiced with the team.
