  1. We should just stick to the actual games coverage.
  2. The typical Gopher fan is ignorant of the players on the current Sioux roster (much like the typical Sioux fan doesn't know the Gopher roster). When their radio media still talks about all the overage Canadians on the Sioux roster, that just goes further to embed that into their thinking. Old-time Gopher fans probably still think that the Gophers recruit 17-18 yr old players just out of HS and the Sioux recruit 24 yr old Canadians with 6 years of juniors experience. When in reality, the average ages of both teams are very close to each other.
  3. Bachman on that list is a huge surprise. Maybe they had to put him on there by default just because he won it last year... Eidsness has a better GAA and Winning % than Bachman, while Bachman barely has a better save %.
  4. Some articles: Geoffrion out for tonight, may play tomorrow: http://www.badgerbeat.com/news/article/id/441753 Keys to the series: http://www.badgerbeat.com/news/article/id/441769 Another 2nd half turnaround: http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/109421/ 4 questions with Genoway: http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/109424/
  5. The Sioux took it to SCSU for almost that entire game. Outplayed them for most of the game and outshot them 36-18. Weslosky just had an "ON" night, while Eidsness had an "OFF" night. It happens. But I don't think they by any means let up for that Friday night game.
  6. I asked him if he was still interested on USCHO...
  7. Have you confirmed if we have any goalie's yet? That one Tech fan from USCHO seemed interested, but he didn't confirm either way yet...
  8. Your post should say: He's already got an MVP, Hobey, and Broadmoor...what he doesn't have is a MacNaughton Cup and National Title. Time to cross those last two off his list.
  9. I see one of three things happening this weekend: 1. UW plays tough, desperate hockey and gives the Sioux two very close games that could go either way. 2. UND wins by a few goals on Friday night to clinch, and then UW wins on Sat as they will have more to play for. 3. UW mails it in and the Sioux take the sweep. I would think that #1 would happen, but part of me is not as certain being that UW should have been playing that way the last couple weekends against MSUM and DU. They have one point in their last 4 WCHA games.
  10. Great news! Hopefully he can suit up!
  11. I think the CC top line with Walsky and Rau is more dynamic than the Stoa/Schroeder line for UMN. The Sioux shut down the Stoa line pretty well in GF for the Sioux/Gopher series, but the Rau line for CC was a threat everytime they touched the ice this past weekend. They may not have as many points as the Stoa line, but IMO they were more impressive.
  12. Kind of like that Ryan Potulny vs Grant Potulny fight on hockeyfights.com. Not only did they both play for the Gophers, but they are also brothers! They must absolutely hate each other to fight like that.
  13. It sounded like Gregoire's injury wasn't too serious, as he did skate in warm-ups on Saturday. So hopefully he can make the trip, but if not I have faith that Hakstol will get the lines going well.
  14. Here's all the goals from the regional weekend (both Princeton and UW): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zD5M-cAtYbc...feature=related
  15. I've gotten a couple interested people on USCHO...I'll ask them again to see if they can commit to it.
  16. I like this quote: Haha, the WCH blog is probably outraged.
  17. Sounds like Geoffrion from UW is doubtful for this weekend: http://www.badgerbeat.com/news/article/id/441403
  18. Hextall is the WCHA ROTW this week after his performance against CC.
  19. Ssshhh, you do know that many current WCHA coaches lurk this message board looking for coaching insight from redwing77. The last thing we want is for those coaches to find out the Hakstol secrets as well!
  20. Agreed. I would be surprised to see him back with the Sioux next season. Although saying that, he might be our only early departure this year...
  21. A Tech fan over on USCHO said he might be interested in playing goalie. How many goalies do we have among the 11 already interested?
  22. Even if that were the case, you would think only the freshmen players would be affected by the "early season issues" since all the other players would have gotten used to it in previous seasons. Whatever it is, it's certainly nice to see this group of players come together after a rough first half (I think I've said that same thing the previous four years as well). Now hopefully this team can just win a couple more games at the end of the year...
  23. I posted this on the Sioux and F5 thread over on USCHO. Hopefully we'll get enough interest...
  24. Looks like nodakvindy answered the question.
  25. I don't know either way on that one. This article talks about it being a WCHA record, but it might be a NCAA record. Anyone know for sure? Meanwhile, Duncan is at: Fr - 46 gp So - 43 gp Jr - 43 gp Sr - 36 gp (so far) 168 gp total for him so far Assuming no injuries, the regular season will have him at 170 gp. Then let's say a 2-game WCHA 1st round playoff (could be 3 games) and 2 games at the F5 (if they make it). That's 174 or 175 gp right there. He can certainly break Porter's record if the Sioux win a game or two in the NCAA tourney...
