Wisconsin has been the best team all season and is going for back-to-back titles this year. While UMN was the #2 overall seed (UW was #1), it still would have been nice to see the ladies compete a bit more the last two games against UMN. Especially being that in both games, the SOG were very similar...seems that UND lost their goaltending when the playoffs hit. And UND was the only team to beat UMN this season on their home ice. Hopefully the Sioux can get it done next season, the last for the twins.

That's not the type of early goal you want to give up against a strong opponent...on the road...in the playoffs. Very weak goal.

Looks like we already have a couple candidates lined up for when Hakstol retires. Good to see, since evidently coaching an elite college hockey team is so easy.

I was more annoyed with his reasoning for Coach of the Year. Mitch, who played the last 1.5 years at SCSU before transferring to UND. He'll be eligible next Dec to play for the Sioux.

Last I heard he was going to school at UND waiting for next season, much like St. Clair.

Glad you liked them last year...and jealous that you'll be club level this year! I'm definitely bummed that I won't be able to go two years in a row, but I guess that's what happens being that I live in AZ now.

We can hope that a couple of underclassmen take to heart what Hextall said to the team over Xmas break...that leaving early was a mistake and he wishes he would have stayed. Hopefully guys like Kristo, MacWilliam, Knight, Dell, and Nelson listen to his advice.

Even if the Sioux make it in, they would potentially have a very tough matchup right out of the gate with UMN...a team that just destroyed them 6-0. They would need a huge bounce-back game in order to take them down. Go ladies!

I think BSU will be an "easier" opponent for UND...they probably have a better chance to sweep BSU than UW. I think UW could definitely have gone 3 games, with maybe even UW coming out with the series win. BSU will be a tough matchup regardless (it always is when you are working to end a team's season), but UW definitely has the higher-end skill players that can step up in a playoff series (especially with how well UW has been playing lately). BSU has a great goalie though, and the Sioux seem to always run into hot goalies at inopportune times. Hopefully the Sioux can close this one out in two!

Yes. BSU has to sweep UAA and UMN has to beat UW tomorrow. Then we would play BSU instead of UW in the 1st round.

UW is the team that I don't want UND to face next weekend, but it is looking like there is a good chance it could happen. UW has struggled this year, but they have a great top line and the best offensive dman in the nation in Schultz.

Has Denver had any season-ending injuries? I don't remember...I know Brittain and Bennett were both out for quite a long time, as was Ryder. But Brittain is now back. Hard to replace our "season-ending injury" group of forwards with Grimaldi/Rodwell/O'Donnell. That could be our 2nd line!

No doubt. Roman seems to be pretty useless about anything related to hockey. Brad does an awesome job.

Either MSUM or the 1st round WCHA playoffs...those would be his only two options remaining. Let's hope he's impressed with the facilities, coaching staff, and area. And hopefully Miles has been harping him to attend along with him.

1. When are the coaches going to realize that we need to rotate goalies? It's been a long time since we've had two good starts in one weekend from a starting goalie. Eidsness got lucky last night with posts and rebounds...and then got burnt tonight. Dell should have started if he was good enough to play in the 3rd. 2. Multiple jersey popping by DU players? Really lame. Maybe all the Sioux fans at Magness confused them and they thought they were on the road? Zucker is a fun player to watch...but with him constantly running his mouth and his antics on the ice, he's going to have to tone that down in the NHL or beware. 3. I think the Sioux played well enough to win, but the special teams goals allowed killed them for sure. That SHG was the killer IMO. Either Mattson needs to take the penalty to prevent the shot, or Eidsness needs to cover that better (or both would be ideal). 4. Must sweep next weekend against a weaker opponent. No letdowns on Saturday after coming out flying on Friday. Two wins and a series win in the first round might be enough to earn that tourney berth.
