Geez, one loss by the women's program after their huge streak and you blow a gasket. Calm down man, things will be...ok.

The streak is over. Nice!

Hak at intermission: A bruise on the leg is a hell of a long way from the heart, candy ass.

What question is that? Blais never blows a 2-goal lead, EVER!!!

I like these lines. Cags and Rocco together again. The 2nd line has good skill. 3rd has grit. 4th could surprise...a little offense on that line too.

That was the game that the Sioux won to advance to the final against Denver. The 1-0 loss to DU that still stings, as that team was probably one of the most skilled Sioux teams in quite some time. Brutal. http://www.uscho.com/box/mens-hockey/2004/03/26/holy-cross-vs-north-dakota/ http://www.uscho.com/box/mens-hockey/2004/03/27/denver-vs-north-dakota/

Does anyone have an injury update? I know St. Clair will still be out. Sure would be great to get O'Donnell and Tambellini back. And then Parks and whoever else couldn't go at the end of Sunday's game.

It sure would be nice to end their huge winning streak. Go Sioux Women!

BC just absolutely crushed Army, 11-0. Ouch.

Man, what a downer. I guess we have no reason to watch for the next couple years. Too bad. What are your thoughts on the following year? Hopefully we can tune back in that year.

Man, that is impressive. Who was it a couple weeks ago that said Hakstol hadn't landed a Blue Chip recruit recently?

I am humored when people think that they could do a better job coaching the team from their couch.

Roche had that poise with the puck as a freshman. I don't remember a frosh UND dman since then though that matched Stecher in that regard.
-
Even with the recruits lost to Canadian MJ the last few years, I would hardly call any of the recent recruiting classes anywhere close to a bust. Toss in next year's class, which will be outstanding, and I would say that one of Hakstol and Co's best qualities is their recruiting. They just need to coach them how to play in the 1st half. And have a decent PP. Those things.

The obvious answer is 5 games into a season.

Lucia speaks for Broten, Woog and Parise and saves the world
brianvf replied to yababy8's topic in Men's Hockey
If I were a MN player looking to make my decision about which college to attend for hockey, I'd be looking long and hard at all available options...not just the ones presented to me each spring at the F5 or ones that the Gophers play regularly. I'm sure most dream of ending up wearing the M, but that spot is only available to so many each year. Will it affect some kids like it did with the one that sat behind you? Sure, I have no doubt for some of the casual fans. I just don't think it will have a major affect at all on potential recruits. UND is still going to be a hockey powerhouse...they'll still be putting a ton of players in the NHL...they'll still be in the tourney most years. Kids will see that. Plus, I kind of like how much Hammy keeps mentioning it on GPL...almost like he is trying to convince himself and others that it will DEFINITELY be the case. That greatly amuses me. -

I wouldn't say it is 'over'. Just won't ever be the same as it once was. -

The thread talking about this same topic on GPL is also quite comical. I do find it humorous that Hammy thinks that UND won't be able to land the high-end MN recruits any longer...that not playing the Gophers every year will 'harm' their reach in the Cities. He's delusional, unless he honestly believes that MN recruits won't know about a school less than four hours away from them that is highly known for producing NHL talent. Oh yeah, I forgot, they won't be playing UMN any longer, so the MN recruits will forget about the Sioux and start playing for Penn St or OSU instead (at least, the ones that UMN doesn't want! ). Haha!
