  1. You would think that with both UMN and BC having 3 players each on the list that they might split the votes? Not sure. Might help open the door for Shelby a little bit.
  2. http://www.undsports.com/mediaPortal/player.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=13500&id=3757010 Good Through These Doors this week that focuses on the 7 seniors and their quest for a national title.
  3. No doubt. You don't get many chances against a good team where you're up 3-0 early and playing against their 2nd-string goalie who's seen all his action on the bench.
  4. Shelby Amsley-Benzie is a top-10 finalist for the Patty Kazmaier award.S She is the only goalie on the list.
  5. This week's Bracketology. Protect the #1 seed: East Regional (Providence): 13 Bowling Green vs. 4 Miami 12 Providence vs. 5 Michigan Tech Northeast Regional (Manchester): 14 St. Cloud State vs. 3 Minnesota-Duluth 11 Quinnipiac vs. 6 Boston University Midwest Regional (South Bend): 16 Robert Morris vs. 1 Minnesota State 9 Boston College vs. 8 Omaha West Regional (Fargo): 15 Michigan vs. 2 North Dakota 10 Minnesota vs. 7 Denver Moved for no 1st round conf matchups: East Regional (Providence): 13 Bowling Green vs. 4 Miami 12 Providence vs. 5 Michigan Tech Northeast Regional (Manchester): 15 Michigan vs. 3 Minnesota-Duluth 11 Quinnipiac vs. 6 Boston University Midwest Regional (South Bend): 14 St. Cloud State vs. 1 Minnesota State 9 Boston College vs. 8 Omaha West Regional (Fargo): 16 Robert Morris vs. 2 North Dakota 10 Minnesota vs. 7 Denver That first west regional with UND, UM, UMN, and DU would be a crazy bracket of death. The second version with the RMU draw in first round would definitely be more favorable, but still a very tough 2nd game to advance to F4 against either UMN or DU assuming a victory against a man named Robert.
  6. MacMillan at # 54 #95 Cagguila #83 LJohnson #63 Poolman #54 MacMillan
  7. Goals against UND with less than 1 minute: 2 Goals for UND with less than 1 minute: 6 Didn't expect that. Nice.
  8. The NCAA wouldn't care if there are 5 or 6 NCHC teams in the tourney. It might be un-avoidable depending on how the seeding works out.
  9. Video highlights are up on undsports.com: http://www.undsports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=13500&ATCLID=209901176
  10. SAB with...another shutout. 2-0 win over MSUM and UND completes the sweep.
  11. I think it's the beginning of UNO's usual late season meltdown.
  12. LOL I missed the game due to company being at our house, so I read the thread from beginning to end to "watch" the game. Reading everyone freaking out and then all rejoicing minutes later was quite the roller coaster ride. This quote summed it up perfectly. Nice sweep Sioux!!
  13. It was "imbarassing". Stecher is so awesome, he gets his own intern! I didn't think Western was very quick and fast skating at all. As I said last night, they were trying too hard to just be "physical" IMO. They needed to spend a bit more energy on their offensive game and less just trying to drive people through the boards and hold them there. Sending a message with your physicality is great and all, but it doesn't mean much when you're still losing.
  14. It would make it tough for the NCAA committee to put a ton of NCHC teams in a single bracket. If they were all spread out as seeds, I could see the NCAA putting 2-3 NCHC teams in single brackets and even having a couple inter-conference 1st round games. If the NCHC ends up with 3 #1 seeds, it forces the NCAA to put them all in different brackets. UMN is trending upward now, could end up as a #2 seed if they keep winning. Michigan sure has tanked now though. I could see any team winning the B10 tourney, which could put 2 B10 teams in the tourney even if their play all year has been mediocre.
  15. SAB with another shutout. 7-0 win over MSUM.
  16. If WMU spent as much energy in offensive pressure as they do on trying to act "physical", they might get a few more scoring chances.
  17. gfhockey might be out of luck soon with all the layoffs in the oil fields.
  18. Not ringing any bells... Wasn't he a goalie?
  19. Sounds like everyone practiced yesterday so I would anticipate at least 1-2 Cagguila highlight reel goals this weekend.
  20. I put Thompson at #9 just because he's only going to get better and is still so young. I would guess that if we made this list a year from now he'd jump a few spots. I debated with substituting Ausmus in for either MacMillan or Parks...just wasn't sure which one. Hard to say which one will do better in the NHL. Right now I'd say Parks just because of his work along the boards and excellent reach, but who knows.
  21. 10. Cagguila 9. Thompson 8. MacMillan 7. Parks 6. Poolman 5. Stecher 4. LaDue 3. J Schmaltz 2. N Schmaltz 1. McIntyre
