  1. If I were a coach, I think it would be hard to pull a goalie from a shutout game...especially a goalie who has had difficulty in closing out shutouts. Maybe they could have put Johnson in after Zane allowed the one goal last night, that I could maybe see even if it would have only been for a few minutes.
  2. You knew it had to happen. Anytime the Sioux are involved in a game, this is bound to happen. Oh wait...
  3. Syracuse 2 UND 1 FINAL That's just embarrassing.
  4. Agreed on both counts. I can see why the players dislike them so much.
  5. So much for that Bulldog sweep that everyone was talking about last night. I guess we know which coach made the correct adjustments. No DHG tonight?
  6. Ton of commits lately. Hakstol and Co have been busy! Any room for Fabbro, Jost, Matthews, and Boeser?
  7. Haha, one game a 2nd half makes? I bet you were on here chanting "season's over" after the season-opening loss to Bemidji.
  8. UND must be losing, I see that we have a gfhockey post.
  9. Your info is always appreciated, Jim!
  10. How did the Mariucci Cupcake Classic go? Epic 3rd place finish!
  11. This is like the USA/Russia WJC game except for all the penalties are against UND instead.
  12. That humored me. One PP within 10 sec after Merrimack got a 2 goal lead. And then another PP about 10 sec after they didn't score on the first PP.
  13. Good to see your spelling/grammar return to normal. Almost as if you forgot to spell incorrectly for awhile. Get some time off from your "oil drilling" job?
  14. Eichel is skilled, but tried to do too much himself all tournament. Lot of weak penalties today, with most being called against the US. The Russian gameplan appeared to be to fall or grab their faces anytime a stick got within a foot of their heads. This was a highly-skilled group of US forwards, but for whatever reason they just didn't click all tourney. Not nearly as much offense as what they were capable of...especially on the PP. Looked horrible most times.
  15. That would be my guess as well. If Zane stays, I could see our 3 goalies stay the same as what we have now for 15/16. That would be ideal, as then Tomek could come in the next season with Johnson as a junior and those two could rotate to get Tomek acclimated until one starter emerges. I like our little pipeline with Penticton. Certainly doesn't hurt to have Nick Fuher up there as an assistant coach. And another Stecher? I would take that in a heartbeat. I like it. "Today, UND would like to announce a four-pack of recruit commitments: Welcome to the team Matthews, Boeser, Fabbro, and Jost!"
  16. Couple great pickups there! Good recruiting day. Wonder why Hakstol hasn't announced the Matthews/Boeser combo yet? Probably just waiting until after USA wins gold in WJC so as not to distract Matthews. Sounds about right. Also good to see Rowe commit to ASU. May see him again should ASU join the NCHC.
  17. I guess it's hard for the refs to call it a no goal being that it was Team Canada...in Canada. That was a no-win situation for the USA.
  18. Yon will still be 2016 I would guess. Hakstol had a phone chat with Rowe and told him the circumstances. Due to the recent (not yet released) commitment of Boeser and Matthews for 2015, Cagguila told Hak that he was hoping to stay another year for the "dream season" of playing with that many high talented forwards. Upon hearing this, both Schmaltz brothers signed the pact to stay another season as well. Essentially Hak had to tell Rowe that there wouldn't be room for him again, and they both mutually agreed that a different college might be best for him. At least that's how I have it playing out. Happy New Year to everyone in SiouxSports land!
  19. Blais already has enough to worry about with his team getting smoked by a bad UNH team today...
  20. Wow, that Domi is a little punk. I am stunned that the goalie interference goal counted. Ridiculous.
  21. If any NCHC team can lose some bad OOC games, it is certainly Omaha. They always seem to have issues with their OOC schedule.
  22. I can't believe that LSSU won that tourney. They make these schedules like 4-5 years in advance. Kind of hard to predict some teams that might be up/down in half a decade. Also, it has been mentioned in the past that scheduling "easier" OOC teams would be more beneficial to the PWR...what would be better: to be .500 in OOC record due to scheduling tough teams or to be 7-1-1 like we currently are against weaker competition? My guess is that you would be on here shouting for Hakstol to be fired in either scenario.
  23. UMass beats Sacred Heart 5-1. Quinnipiac beats Princeton 2-0. Conn beats Union 3-2. Yale is playing Russian Red Stars and CC is playing U18 team in exhibition action.
  24. Might as well fold up the program.
