Ouch, that's a tough one. Sounds like a few of the top SSM kids made a "pact" to play together at the college level as well. It's just unfortunate that they chose UMN to play at. We all saw how well it worked out for BU and Michigan when they got a huge chunk of highly recruited players at once. They all lasted 1-2 years in college and not one of them brought home a national title at the end of the year. Still...we need Berry to land a few of these players.

He's been on our "potential recruit wishlist" for a few months now, he is one of the better dman recruits available in his draft year.

Great pickup! Well done coaches, let’s add a couple more!

2022-23 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

So...what you're saying is that they better add another letter in there this year if they want a repeat of 2016. Get on it, Berry! Also...wrap up this Eiserman kid while you're at it to calm the masses on ss.com! -
Didn’t they lose like half their team from last year? Seems like they lost a lot. But they did get Johnny back for a 5th year!!

Certainly helped that his older brother Henry was already committed to Notre Dame.

2022-23 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

Ha, before I saw your small font text, I was gonna say that Gopher faithful are gonna take offense to that. They're convinced that they have the best d-corps and first line in college hockey. They will have a great D group for sure, but their forward depth is lacking IMO. -
Mullett Arena?

I don't know, it's usually hard for dying programs to win national titles. But I'll keep my fingers crossed for this season!

You realize that UND has one of the highest rated incoming freshman classes this year, right? Our freshmen forward group is elite. How did that happen if UND isn't relevant outside of GF? And how did that happen despite UND not winning a title since 2016? Your definition of a dying program is vastly different than mine.
-
I heard that if we only go 1 for 5, UND is planning on folding the program. No longer elite, so what's the point? They'll probably pull them all off the ice during a practice to let them know that the program is done.

Gophers posted their roster for this upcoming season: https://gophersports.com/sports/mens-ice-hockey/roster/2022-23?&sort=position Only 14F and only 4 of those 14 are upperclassmen. Very young forward group. They have a very talented d-corps and some talented freshmen coming in, but I could see some of their lower lines struggling a bit at first like many freshman forwards do.

He also follows SCSU on IG. Maybe the Huskies will pull a surprise out of the blue.
-
Having never seen him play, his numbers don’t exactly jump off the page coming from MN HS hockey as a forward.

The IIHF website says it was a 25min penalty for slew-footing. Who knows. I don't have it live.

Yes, he's quite the blue-chipper. Scored 15g in 59 games with the Lancers last season as a 19yo. Denver had an open forward spot (so does UMN), so just needed a body. I would guess UMN will pickup another older forward recruit before the season starts too.

We’re in his final three supposedly, so we can cross our fingers.
