If anything, this shows what an amazing job he has done this year and why he'll be the NCHC CotY (once again). Look at the other big programs that lost a good amount of talent this past off-season like UW, BC, etc. Those schools didn't lose nearly as much as UND did, and yet they're both having bad seasons. Meanwhile, Berry has led UND to another potential Penna and has them lined up for a great NCAA tourney seed despite having far less overall talent on the roster compared to the last two years.
-
So, by your definition, Berry is a great coach because he's already proven that he can get his team to peak at the right time. And, if not, fire him and bring in Sandy?
-
Yes, no one here cares about them. Not one bit.
-
Sandy must have passed on their offer so they just decided to extend Berry instead.
-
No he said Sanderson is lut. So....yeah.

Forgot about that sweet dangle that Oshie put on the UW defender in our zone. And there's that sweet CLANG post shot of Duncan's. Man he had such a beauty of a shot.
-
I was at that regional. We certainly didn't play our best hockey (in either game), but can't argue with the outcome. I remember all the UW fans around us talking so much smack entering the 3rd period with us down 2-0. Duncan's goal that rang the post SO LOUD and in! And then Kozek for the game winner in OT. Fun times.
-
Yes, very new. Yet I still don't recall the NCAA putting two NCHC teams against each other in the 1st round. I agree that they'll put two NCHC in each regional rather than spread them apart, though.
-
Sorry, you always get so mad at other teams recruits or gaining a recruit. Can't win them all, and we don't want to win them all. It'd be quite the logjam.
-
I think they'd still avoid it though if they easily can. We'll see how much more movement there is still in the last couple weeks. I'd rather avoid UMN in the 2nd round, but I'd take MTU for a first round opponent...old WCHA foe!
-
Couldn't have 6 vs 11 in round 1, as they are both NCHC teams. In that scenario, it'd be easy to flip 10/11 and put UMass vs WMU in Loveland and UMD vs ND in Worcester. Or flip 6/7 to keep two UMass schools in Worcester for attendance.
-
No, any team is eligible if they win the conference tourney. CC or Miami could make the NCAA's if they win the FF.
-
BC 3 BU 1 Final BU's win streak ends at 8 games. Still only their 2nd loss of 2022, pretty impressive run by them to end the regular season.

Crap, you're right. They'll probably give it to him. That's a lot of saves in one weekend, even with one game being an L.
-
Caulfield and Driscoll have been the most noticeable improved since the losing streak ended. Can they give Driscoll the NCHC Goalie of the Week award for the 4th week in a row? Only potential candidates are Driscoll or Hrenak from SCSU. Hrenak allowed 3 goals on 42 shots against the 7th place team. Driscoll allowed 3 goals on 58 shots against the 3rd place team. Seems like a no-brainer decision to me.

The outfit, hat, and necklace. What a combo. -
And then again the following weekend to make it to the FF. One of those fan bases won't be at the FF, and that's good to know.
-
No, we're 4 pts up. DU needs to sweep and we would need to lose either both games or lose one game outright / lose other in OT/SO. If we win one game at UNO, we win Penna regardless of what DU does.

This weekend turned out much better than I had expected for the NCHC standings. I anticipated us splitting with WMU and DU sweeping UNO. So for us to sweep WMU and DU to drop a game to UNO was a great result. Now have a four point lead heading into the last weekend. One win next weekend against UNO and it's clinched. Go get it boys! Hopefully we get a couple injured players back. -
DU with 3 PPG and 1 ENG in the 3rd period to take the win. It all comes down to next weekend now!
