You'd think they'd swap the 3-seeds rather than the 2-seeds. Otherwise you're hosing the #1 overall seed by putting a higher 2-seed in their regional.
-
If they go by bracket integrity, #1 overall would get the #8 overall 2-seed in their bracket, which is QU.
-
Straight brackets: 1 Michigan vs 16 AIC 8 QU vs 9 Notre Dame 2 Mankato vs 15 Harvard 7 UND vs 10 SCSU 3 WMU vs 14 Northeastern 6 UMN vs 11 UMass 4 DU vs 13 UMass-Lowell 5 UMD vs 12 MTU Only issue is UND vs SCSU, so I'd guess they'd swap UMass or Notre Dame with SCSU.
-
I would be fine with a regional with no other NCHC teams. UMass would be a challenge in the first game. And then if UND can get past them, Mankato (assuming they win too) would be a tough out...but I feel UND would have a better chance against them compared to a potential Michigan matchup.
-
All games final then. Time to guess who our first opponent will be and where we'll be playing!
-
Ah, we had momentum last year too but it didn't matter.
-
I hope BSU can pull this off just to spite him.
-
He's never been the brightest and his homerism is showing there.
-
Agreed. They won't make it out of their regional next weekend. That said, pretty good chance UND won't either.
-
What happened the last two years? What a disappointment.
-
And that should be game in the NCHC tourney 3-0 UMD
-
For sure.
-
Fanti MVP of the tourney easy if he keeps this up. Shutting out two high powered offensive teams in a row is pretty impressive. SHUT OUT
-
I felt Driscoll played a solid game. Didn't steal anything but made some good saves. A PP goal though...that would have changed everything. They score on any one of their PP chances in the 2nd and then don't make that bone-headed pass right up the middle as the WMU player was coming out of the box to go down the ice on a 2on1...whole different game. Oh well.

And putting back on all your sweaty & wet equipment
-
UMN with 2 EA PPG in the last minute to make it interesting against UM. If UND would have pulled the goalie for that long, we would have given up 3-4 ENG.
-
Yep Another one up for grabs if BSU pulls this off
-
There goes one spot! Harvard outshot 49-17 but makes it into the tourney.
-
Agreed. The goalie pushes up against the post, causing it to rise just enough to allow the puck to go in underneath. Very obvious no goal. No idea what the protocol would be? Is there a time limit for a video review and to start the game over again if need be?
-
No doubt. Mankato and BSU going to OT!
-
Gonna be a couple teams really sweating it out with the current scores of the UConn, Harvard, and BSU games.
-
Yep, I’m coaching my sons league currently and we tell them the same thing. They are for sure doing it intentionally and will continue to do so when they can get 5min PP out of it.

2021-22 University of North Dakota Hockey Season
brianvf replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
Even if NCHC has three 2 seeds, the 3 seed band is already locked in with SCSU, Notre Dame, UMass, and MTU. They could just have the lone NCHC 3 seed (SCSU) play QU as long as bracket integrity isn't too far off. Based on current PWR (if DU ends up being #5 instead of current #4), that'd look like this: 5 DU vs 12 MTU 6 UND vs 11 UMass 7 QU vs 10 SCSU 8 UMD vs 9 ND -
2021-22 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

Is Sanderson's injury one that could be made worse by playing? Thinking of that scene in Miracle. Hard to keep the best player in college hockey in the stands now that we’re in one and done format unless the injury makes it a physical impossibility (like if the skate cut his thumb off and he can’t grip the stick ). Even a Sanderson at 50-75% is better than most players in college. -
UNO losing any and all. I feel we’ll see the same from UMD/WMU/SCSU after their seasons are over.
