There was a recent article (don't recall where I read it) that said something along the lines of that the NCAA wanted to get to closer to 50% of teams participating in the NCAA tourney (not just for hockey...for all sports).

Guessing WMU will be looking for a bit of revenge after we took 5 of 6 from them in their barn. UND needs to play this series the same way they played that series and really try to limit their top line. They managed to shut them down in the previous series, and they'll need a similar effort if they want to take some points for the NCHC standings. I'm particularly looking forward to this series, as it'll be my first series that I'm able to attend at REA in over a decade! I'm bringing my son with (who's never even been to ND before)...it'll be a fun time for us!

UMN beats SCSU 2-1 in OT

Didn't look like it affected us too much. Still #16 after all of today's games. Providence tumbled pretty hard after their loss and tie against #57 Army and #49 UNH. Looks like they dropped 6 spots down to #20 in one weekend.

We’re happy because they were #23 just a couple weeks ago. #16 doesn’t do us any good (for now), but they appear to be trending in the right direction the last few games. And that should be reason for some optimism. Or not, whatever you want.

Now that'd be a nice pickup. Agreed that they're probably going the portal route again. I feel it'd be different if Hellsten had solidified his position already, then they might not feel as hesitant just bringing in Hedquist alone.

You should be ecstatic over this weekend's results. Only once (out of 12 chances) did UND give up a goal in the first 2min or the last 2min of the period. And they got it out of the way right away (1st period Friday). Concern? Sure, but only because there's still work to be done in the PWR (and the NCHC standings). But the team has had better results recently. Hopefully they turned a corner with the wins at WMU and can back that up with some more points this upcoming weekend.

Not bad movement this weekend considering UND essentially got swept.
