Morin and Tretheway, they've had a good couple days.
-
Lindberg would be an awesome get, for sure. Would just love to see an elite forward recruit join that class. Gotta win one of those battles again, eventually.
-
The recruiting class that Berry currently has going for this cycle is great. Adding a Mooney or a Potter would elevate it to an elite class.
-
Crosses fingers for high-end forward recruit..............

Yeah, for sure. Something is gonna have to give if all these schools rumored at going DI start actually doing it. They'll all need to fit somewhere. -
UMN fans were proclaiming him a Gopher after looking at his social media, so I agree...better BU than UMN. BU is gonna have yet another great incoming group if they land a few more of these players that they are rumored to be in on.

I still have a hard time believing that St Thomas would jump ship from the CCHA to the NCHC just a couple years after they joined the CCHA. They just joined the CCHA in 2021. I'm assuming that the CCHA would make them pay a decent fee for leaving, much like the rule that the NCHC has in place. -

The new Schloss UND podcast was posted today. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/und-hockey-podcast-the-season-inches-closer They spoke about the upcoming season and talked about how the practices have looked. Schloss specifically called out Blake on looking dominant in these early practices. Also he talked about Perron making some great passes and hustling back when he doesn't have the puck, compared him to Nick Schmaltz. Mentioned Berg looking like a good fit. Said Hedquist was a full participant in practices, so he must be recovered from his injury suffered late last season. -

Tough loss for them so late in the offseason. They lost both their top point getter and their top goal scorer. No one else was within 15 points of those two.
-
It's been a rough stretch lately with forwards especially. A good number of first round forwards in the last 2-4 years have listed UND as their 2nd or 3rd choice. Would be nice to turn that around a bit.
-
I’d be ok with another Rocco on the team.
-
Only slightly. UND Final PWR in the last five seasons: 22/23 - #19 21/22 - #7 20/21 - #2 19/20 - #1 18/19 - #20 Two "almost" seasons, two dominant seasons and one in the middle (that was still a #2 seed).
-
Those bolded six are the most intriguing names left on Schloss' list to me. After missing out on Hensler, I'm hoping we can land at least two of those three dmen (Laurila, Lindberg, Murphy). And since two are local and one is the son of a former standout Sioux player, I'm hoping the odds are good that we're in the running for all three. The forwards are tougher, as all three of Hagens, Mooney, and Potter are heavily recruited from all the big schools. We've been having a tougher time lately landing the big name forwards...so my mind is preparing for the fact that we won't land any of them...but my heart is hoping that we land at least one.

Dang that kid is only 15yo. They have a stockpile of recruits!

Yeah they made a few comments like that which made me think that they didn't have great knowledge of many of the guys (shocker, from a couple podcast guys??). From looking at this team on paper, I would guess that both our offense and goaltending will be improved. The d-corps will be a wait-and-see, hopefully the coaches can have them playing up to their potential earlier in the season than what we saw from last year's group. -

brianvf replied to AlphaMikeFoxtrot's topic in Men's Hockey
Agreed. They don't have a super high end "blue chippah" like Celebrini but they have a great grouping of forwards to make a top 9 that will definitely put up points. A proven goalie that will now have a much better group in front of him. And while the d-corps is starting fresh, it's a good mix of proven vets and high end rookies. -
