I just watched the highlights again...and yes, it was Schmaltz. Just got his stick on it from behind as the Gopher player was about to get the shot off from right in the circle. Great team defensive effort in that Saturday game!

Yeah, he didn't have much impact for UMD last year...and he probably would have been in the stands many nights if he came to UND as planned. He'll be a good collegiate hockey player though...he just had the wrong people feeding him info last year. He'd probably be further along in his development if he had gone back to USHL for a season then came this year as a frosh.
