Laurila has really done well with adding some offense to his game this year. Should be a good addition to our blueline next season.

At least we know that Berry won't have those options on the PP next season. Assuming Berry is around next season. So hopefully guys like Boisvert, Perron, and James can stick around and get slotted into those roles.

I'd like to see WMU have a Penrose hangover tomorrow. But I'm guessing we'll see them just win their 4th game against us this season instead.

Western is lucky that our PP is not very good unless we're playing UMD.

WMU coach definitely deserves Coach of the Year this year...the amount of firepower that they lose each offseason in their forward group is crazy and for them to keep coming back and reloading is pretty impressive. Of course, landing Bump last year was a huge part of that for this year. But the group of forwards that have gone thru that team over the last 2-3 seasons is pretty crazy.

Also, can you imagine how long that game took just due to the goal announcements? Announcing another goal every 1.5 minutes or so. Dang, it would have just dragged on.

Yes for sure. Of those five mentioned in the headline, two are out for the season and have been for quite some time. Agreed on Perron and Emery. The boys showed that they can skate with -- and beat -- a top team despite these injuries from the Sat DU game. Can they do it against WMU? I'd like to see it, despite me not being overly confident after how that WMU/UND series went at the Ralph. Looking forward to see if that FR line can play as well this weekend as they did last weekend...they won't have as much time/space as what UMD gave them.

From what I would consider key players: Zmolek - 30 games Berg - 12 games Jamernik - 8 games (not as 'key' of a player now, but when he got injured he was our top scorer and now he hasn't scored since) Strathmann - 8 games Perron - 5 games MacDonald - 3 games Boisvert - 1 game Those players have 67 combined missed games...and counting unfortunately.

Maybe we could pick up WMU's trainer out of the portal this spring. He seems to be doing a better job.

On Brad's weekly podcast this week, they commented about this. They said that Western has had only 4 total games missed due to injury this season...compared to UND's 110 games missed. Certainly not an excuse for some of the losses this year, but I bet UND is near the top of the NCAA for games missed for injuries.
