  1. Not ideal that we're down 1-0, but I kinda like it to help settle the nerves. I don't like it enough that I prefer it over 0-0, but now they know that they have to bring that extra energy.
  2. Oh man, I feel like I had a hand in that game! We were struggling offensively through two periods big time. Down 2-0 but felt like a bigger gap than that. From the perspective of that video above, the UND parents section was straight down below by the glass. I was sitting next to the Finley's in Coach Osh's seat, row 2 seat 2, since he went up to the press box. Along the way, we tried different things for luck...Joe's mom, being that Joe was #2, decided it would be a good idea to sit in seat #2 where I was, so we swapped. Didn't seem to work. Leading up to the game, and in the game itself, our top line was Duncan, Oshie, and I want to say Rylan Kaip, but memory is escaping me for sure....BUT, earlier in the year there was a period of time when it was Duncan, Oshie, and Kozek. They scored a ton and I thought they clicked. I'm guessing Hakstol liked someone with Kozek's shot and scoring ability on the second line for some balance which is why he didn't stay up there. I was convinced enough that moving Kozek back to the top line was a good idea that after the second period I ran over to the tunnel (in the video above, near-side on the right) and yelled to Hak "PUT KOZEK ON THE TOP LINE!!" A Badger fan standing there along the railing said "Do you think he's going to listen to you?!" In my mind I thought he was probably right, so scurried on back to my seat. But sure enough, to start the third, Kozek was there again on the top line. Then boom, it was all downhill from there. Unbelievable third period and overtime. Kozek scored that game-winner right in front of us and it was pandemonium. I turned to make eye contact with that Badger fan and he looked back at me, and with the biggest grin on my face gave him the biggest double birds of my life. I'll always wonder if I had a legitimate role in that or not. Maybe one day I'll get to run into Hak again and I can ask.
  3. I should have put a "/s" at the end. Bob Norton was a regular on the old ESPN Selection Shows and was from out east and hardly talked about a single program outside of Boston. His accent was thickah than Jewwy's I think.
  4. Probably The Bob Norton Experience
  5. 2016-17 was a good year too, don't discredit them. On paper they were totally outmatched but gave BU everything they could handle and never quit. The problem is, it was all downhill from there and many of us got a lot of flak for wanting a change at the top because UND hockey wasn't passing the eye test for years, even with their NCHC championships.
  6. It's not new, it's just finally returned.
  7. Is that you again, Brianna?
  8. I love our PP setup so far this year.
  9. I think Dane will run the program similarly to Hakstol, which would have this make sense. Hakstol built the team for the long-term at the expense of struggles early in the season. There's a bigger picture at play. It's not actively trying to lose, but building things the right way.
  10. Definitely not perfect between today and Friday, but a much, much better UND hockey experience through four periods (7 counting 'toba) than we've seen in awhile. The speed is noticeable.
  11. Matthews Arena, Northeastern University. But not for much longer as they have a new arena that will be built as well. It's not just college hockey's oldest rink, it is the oldest multi-purpose athletic building in the world. Opened in 1910 and was a former home of both the Bruins and Celtics. You should have known @Godsmack, you were there! I was on that same trip also. We walked over to Fenway for Game 6 of the ALCS after the game vs Northeastern.
  12. Such a refreshing difference in gameplay. I hope it continues. Siouxzies will be tough to stop.
  13. NHL broadcasting Penn St v ASU on YouTube tonight.
  14. Last year it was pretty evident what kind of team we had. I think it's difficult to gauge the potential of a team from the Manitoba game, but it can certainly set off some alarm bells.
  15. I have Ryan Duncan's green game-worn jersey from his Hobey Baker year. I had it along for his Final Shift night and he had the opportunity to wear it, but he declined since REA already had the modern jerseys made up for not only himself, but his kids who joined him on the ice.
  16. Berry bungling the program is relevant to 2025-26, and 26-27, and beyond.
  17. He was a publicly paid employee who ran my alma mater into the dirt. He signed up for the criticism and held on to that position while doing the bare minimum. I'll maybe move on once things have normalized to what North Dakota hockey should be. Why are you so passive over an awful job?
  18. How long have these alumni camps been gone? If so much outside of hockey was affecting Berry's ability to run and lead an elite hockey program, why didn't he step aside?
  19. Some of the stuff we are hearing about Berry almost comes across as sabotage. So many things seem so off about his decision-making.
  20. If these places can get 10% more business because people aren't fumbling with cash and the process is sped up and the same every time, the fees will be offset with the added business. There are many times I've wanted something, but not bad enough to stand in a long line and then I just skip it. I'm sure I'm not the only one. Cash is not fee-less for a business either as there are deposit fees at the bank. Everything has a fee nowadays, so may as well make the process as fast and easy as possible. Not saying this has happened, but one other thing to note is maybe they've had issue with cash not adding up....a few too many buckaroos hitting the tip jar instead of the till, or just math incompetence. If you've ever worked anywhere with a till, you'll know that there's always someone whose till never adds up at the end of the night, even if there's nothing nefarious and it's honest mistakes along the way. Easy to make mistakes when in a hurry and the line is 25 deep between quarters or periods.
  21. Not projected to be a high draft pick, but should bring a lot of energy and skill. Someone mentioned a Stecher-like player.
  22. I assume Russ Hons took the photo of the new unis by how lime green everything looks. He's good at photography, but all his photos he posts of UND hockey after he edits them makes them way too limey.
