  1. Back to my original point - More goals given up on that D-line are mistakes because of Chay, not Joe. It's not always because Chay is playing offensive either. There was one CC goal this weekend that Chay was way out of position on D, chasing something he had no business chasing. Re-watch the majority of the games....if you even have that opportunity. Like you said, Joe should be playing some of his best hockey....but I don't think he's too far off from that. Yeah, he made one mistake on Saturday that led to a goal. Look how many other players on every team make a mistake that leads to a goal. Every player on every team has done it. We gave up 7 goals this weekend. Joe was even for Saturday, with that one goal given up. If Brad makes the save, which wasn't a hard save, no one is even talking about it. Sunday he was even as well... and IIRC not on the ice for any CC goals. Joe has been solid and actually has been pretty good with the puck since a couple games after returning from his concussion. I think you're way off-base with this whole Joe needs to pick it up mentality.
  2. Jonny with a quick assist already in the 'Hawks game.
  3. The Cup isn't going anywhere.
  4. Smaby playing and getting some early PK time for TB against Pittsburgh tonight. 2 separate shifts on the first PK alone.
  5. Don't worry, haven't forgot. But, some games we need those comeback goals because of goals given up on odd-man rushes also. The game is 60 minutes, so it'd be nice to not be out of a game after the 1st period (2008 Frozen Four).
  6. Chay can still bring the puck up on the ice. He can still be part of the offense. All he has to do is keep in mind that he's a defenseman. It shouldn't be one of the forwards responsibilities for him being out of position. Our BEST games are when Chay doesn't try to do too much...and Chay actually has seen better point production because of it in those games. I'm not saying Chay should try to be the big lumbering oak defenseman, I'm just saying he shouldn't try to do too much, like he tends to do sometimes.
  7. I don't think anyone understimates what Chay can do with the puck and offensively. But, when he gets TOO offensive, it essentially leaves us with only 1 defensman a lot of times, and it's hurt us on more than one occasion.
  8. So because Genoway doesn't have that mindset that he's a defenseman while in the opposing zone and gets lost in the transition when he coughs it up and Joe has difficulty stopping an odd-man rush, it's Joe's fault? Genoway coughed it up just as much or more than Joe, and was no where near where he needed to be defensively. Joe knows his role, and with a stick longer than a lot of our players are tall, it's not easy to stick handle like Jonny Toews out there. Look at Joe's plus-minus from last year when he played the whole season. Joe isn't our problem. Genoway can perform miracles with the puck, but needs to learn there are 3 forwards on the ice already.
  9. Thanks for the clarification. I wasn't 100% sure on the rule myself.
  10. It's beautiful!
  11. Looks like an offside at 2:46 that led to a goal for Minnesota. The guy leaves the puck out of the zone, but skates in before the puck crosses the line...all while in control of the puck. That'd be an offside, correct?
  12. Brad touched on this a couple weeks ago. They are names of well-respected former players who became very accomplished as all-around good people, not necessarily for their hockey stats. The names on the jerseys correspond to which number the player wore.
  13. The guy looks like he skates around with a knife stashed in his pads somewhere. He got in trouble for sexual misconduct and lying.
  14. For a long time, the Bruins were the thing to see in Boston. Even during the Celtics hay-day, they didn't rock the house like they did for the Bruins. Red Sox were still popular, but there wasn't talk of curses and stuff like there was in the past decade and a half and it wasn't amplified to the point it was a few years ago.
  15. Both Karl and Eddie were at the games this weekend too, which was cool to see!
  16. Goehring had one hell of a long freshman year... Sorry, couldn't resist.
  17. Hopefully we didn't crush whatever CC had going with that OT goal today.
  18. Nothing scheduled for this upcoming series. Nothing on the FCS channels, Big Ten Network, or CSTV either.
  19. I had a pretty good video down by the ice, and accidently deleted it of course.
  20. Hopefully it's your computer! What happened to the win out and have these great odds at a #1 seed?!? I know we tied yesterday, but that shouldn't drop our odds terribly.
  21. Boy, sweeping and dropping a spot wouldn't be very fun.
  22. I'm on both sides of the fence. What makes the trip to UAA and back difficult is the sleeping patterns. I believe it was Watty that said he couldn't sleep right until about Wednesday. It just throws things off a bit. Is it going to be the end of the world going to UAA? Absolutely not. It certainly isn't helpful though. The whole thing is slightly overblown, but there is something to it, I think.
  23. Fixed it for you.
  24. I hope the short week after a hard-fought weekend doesn't slow the team up too much. It's been a tough couple of weeks. First the long road trip to Anchorage and back where we had to work pretty hard, and then this weekend. No time to let up.
