  1. It was before my time in life, so I'm probably wrong. I heard it from someone else a couple years ago and tried to recall it from memory. Either way...don't want him, didn't need him.
  2. No, it's just that you make quite a few posts, and most have good info in them. However, it seems that after every game, you seem to think the refs could have done better. I think if UND played for any league, we'd think the refs were horrible at some point. This weekend though, UND had 7 more Power Plays than Mankato. Yes, Mankato deserved them all, but they got called for the deserving penalties. I think the majority of the refs in our league do as good of a job as possible, with the exception of Todd Anderson. The refs can't see every single action on the ice, and most of the stuff got called that was needed. Sure, there was a CFB penalty that wasn't called properly, but still called a penalty, but it's hard to throw a player out of a game if you missed that play. If each of the refs eyes could see 2 different players, there'd still be 8 other players out there not being seen.
  3. thanks for the info, but both links are the same
  4. Yeah, Chris Chelios actually committed to North Dakota originally. I want to say he even signed the LOI, but asked Gino if he could back out of it commitment, and Gino didn't want a guy not fully committed mentally to play for UND. Chris then ended up going to our biggest rival at the time, Wisconsin. Chris' first season was the 1981-82 season. UND won the National Championship that year...against Wisconsin. So, no need to have Chris then. Chris' second and last season was the 82-83 season. Wisconsin won the National Championship that year, but UND didn't even make the tournament, so I don't see how Chris would have helped enough to win it all. So, no need for Chris to have even been on the team.
  5. OK, my bad.
  6. Yep, same one we always play...
  7. Yeah, I hear some pretty mean nicknames all the time about him. We were doing pretty badly without him this year. Whether it's because of Joe for other reasons, who knows, but Joe has played pretty well in my opinion since last year. He really moves his feet well now and is starting to use his body more. His passing outlet passes are second to none on the team IMO.
  8. I beg to differ Just two years ago we were 7-10-1 including two sweeps by UAA and MTU going into our winter tourney at Dartmouth...pretty similar to this year. After that we went 17-3-4 going into WCHA tournament time. This year we started 5-9-1. We are 14-3-2 since going the first 15 games...and two of those losses were that abysmal GLI showing. We were what...a 3 seed that year in the tourney if I remember right?
  9. The only one doesn't even really count. Kozek scored one against the U-18s.
  10. Chris backed out of his commitment. Not to mention the fact we still one a title one of the two years he played college and wouldn't have won the other year even with him.
  11. Lee and Finley were both first round draft picks that everyone expected to come to UND and tear it up, but when they didn't they both got thrown under the bus and the majority of Sioux fans don't like them....not including me.
  12. Has there been an empty netter all year? I can't recall one... too lazy to look either, haha.
  13. Yeah, Forbort and Olsen might be the two best defensemen to come in since first-rounders Lee and Finley....
  14. I don't want a Chelios on our team, even if he's better than Chris. Chris is a tool.
  15. No offense Goon...but do you expect the refs to call 20 penalties on our opponent and 0 on us each game?
  16. You mean, they had Nathan Gerbe...(yes, they had Gerbe the two previous years, but not THE Nathan Gerbe).
  17. My opinion is that Hak purposely keeps moving guys around the first half of the year. It doesn't provide for the best winning percentage, but in the long run, everyone knows how everyone plays. Come the middle of December, he's starting to finalize lines for the second half. 1) This prevents opposing teams from using the same strategies on our guys all year round, and gives Hak the best opportunity to really see who gels and who doesn't. 2) If any unforseen circumstances occur, teammates have an idea on how each other will react if put into a new situation. That's just my theory, but if you go back and look at each of the previous seasons, Hak seemed to shuffle quite a bit each of the first couple months. Most of us took it as we're not playing well, so Hak is trying to make something work...but in my opinion, it might be planned that way.
  18. With those weak teams, they are effective in two categories....RPI and COp.
  19. Travis Zajac has moved to #5 in the NHL for best plus/minus rating at +28. The leader, Blake Wheeler nonetheless, is at +33.
  20. Joe isn't going to cruise all around the ice, but he's a heck of a passer when he's playing confident. He has the best long outlet pass on the team.
  21. I've been singing in that one so long my throat is getting sore.
  22. Good thing the Gophers are a tough, gritty team to keep softening up these teams before we play 'em...
