Wasn't there a scrimmage today? Anyone still in the GF area make it? Anything to report? Really curious as to how things are progressing. Any info would be greatly appreciated

Ended up 7-6 UVU. Not sure what inning - just saw the score this morning.

Well, UND was swept by the Bison. Games Saturday I believe were 3-1 and 7-3. This afternoon was 4-3 Bison.

It's interesting to me that out of the DB positions, a RFR is listed as a backup to three of the four positions. Additionally, I see Dwayne Brown is not going to compete in Spring due to injuries. My understanding is that he was close to having his RS pulled last year, so I wonder if he'll at least backup (or maybe even start over) Mackey when the year gets going. Looking at the depth chart, it looks like we do have some pretty good talent, with the main question marks being QB and DB. If we can get solid play in both of these positions, UND may make some noise this year. I have heard from a former UND QB that Hansen sounds like the real deal, so maybe the QB position will be a strength this year.

While this might be true, it doesn't change the fact that there was some good basketball being played in the Summit this year.

Utah Valley is also playing in the CIT. They will face Big Sky member (who I think had a shot at the NIT) Weber State.

Unlike hockey, basketball and other sports, football uses dark unis for home and white for away (unless the home team is in Florida, Arizona, or somewhere else hot and choose to wear white for home games to combat the heat). So, any all black jersey would be home. I would like to see what they could do with an all black jersey, but I'm more for the green / black and green / grey combos that have been shown here. The more I'm looking at the grey ones the more I think I like them. Not sure about grey helmets though.....

Also, regarding Malik Rucker, an interview with him on gopherhole stated that the Gophers, Nebraska and Iowa are likely to offer him, and SDSU and UND already have. Doubt we have a shot with this kid (both his dad and brother played at Nebraska, and he noted it would be a dream to play at the UofM, so....).

SFI tweeted an article about Jester Weah, a 6'3" (6'5" on basketball roster) WR out of Madison, recently receiving his first offer. I can't read the article, but I would assume that since SFI tweeted it he must have been offered by UND. Anyone help a brother out??

So do I, as a person of Scandanavian descent, have the right to have the UND sports teams named after me? Are my rights not being violated because they are not knows as the Fighting Norse? Should I start a petition to get that nickname in the constitution? I guess what I'm saying is I don't understand how anyone's rights are being violated because a team will not have their heritage as a nickname. Someone please explain to me how their rights are being violated......Thank you in advance.

Haven't seen anything on Hein, other than he is attending/attended Jr Day. Sounds like Rucker, Cottrell and Wipson are all expected to get Gopher offers (at least according to the fans), so it might be an uphill battle for them. Another name on the list I hope we get after is Michael Sales from Champlin Park. I live right by the HS and, although limited by injury, he is the real deal in my opinion. UND seems to be hitting the Cities hard this year after not having much luck last year.

FWIW, I've heard SDSU may buy out the FB game at the Al in 2013 if UND still has the nickname under sanctions. That may mean they wouldn't schedule us in other sports as well. I think they would honor the games for this current sports year (played twice in basketball, think there are a couple baseball games scheduled, etc), but not starting in Fall 2012. Not sure if it's accurate, however, as I never saw anything official come out of it.
