While I trust the coaches to do what's best, based on the film (since it was 95% defensive side) he would probably be more suited for that side of the ball. He has good size for a DE and looked like he has potential there.
-
Not much out there for who is recruiting him, but he does appear to be pretty talented as a three year starter (Jr season missed most games due to injury) on defense. Also appears to be a very good basketball player. One thing I found was that he was on the preseason watch list as Illinois defensive player of the year, which is especially interesting considering his injury filled season before. http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/high-school/post/_/id/1521/watch-list-defensive-player-of-the-year

Another observation on Tuilagi - I noticed that HS teammate PJ Taeao, OL 6'1" 300 pounds, has offers from Texas Southern and San Diego as well, which are the same other schools that Tuilagi has offers from (although PJ visited Texas Southern already whereas Tuilagi goes there next weekend). I wonder if PJ would be someone that UND would offer as well (maybe a package deal?). Maybe folks should be on the lookout for a large Polynesian kid with a ponytail this weekend http://rivals.yahoo....f6vQCP54PwfwOrF_

It was also posted on ND Preps that Jake Hanson, QB for Grafton, has committed to UND. I would think that would be a PWO opportunity as well. Also, I would think it wouldn't be at the QB position. http://www.northdakotapreps.com/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=10561 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxPiFQ2dnIY

Also - Dickinson is looking at him for both football and basketball. Don't think he could play both at either UND or NDSU.

There were some technical difficulties so it was canceled today I believe.

So, out of what's left out there, who are some kids that you hope come to UND? I've included kids that we have offers to, kids that are on our interest lists, and kids from MN (since I've been able to see some of them). Don't know if some of the MN kids are committed somewhere else, so included some of them anyway. Mine are: RB Antonio Ford RB Sam Sura OL Sam Lee OL Stephen Arnold OL Ryan Glasgow OL Evan Aaron OL Nick Carr OL Ryan Dahl OL/TE Landon Lechler DE Justin Arp DE Kit Snyder LB Bennett Goff LB Tyler Fahey LB Jared Tuilagi LB Ben McDonald LB Brandon Larson DB Adam Bungum DB LaRon Tarkington DB Charles Webb DB Anthony Hill Ath Matt Arends Ath Michael Roane Actually, the more I think about it, there are a lot of MN kids that I hope get walk on offers. There seems to be some decent OL talent this year. Anyway, the list got longer than I anticipated, but names kept popping into my head. For some of the MN kids, you can see some video of them in the following link. http://minnesotaprep...=921&CID=956917

There will be more. I feel it.

To update on Tuilagi, he is visiting this weekend per rivals. He visited San Diego last weekend and it appears he will be visiting Texas Southern after signing day, so unless UND can get a commitment over his visit we might not know about this one until after signing day. Hopefully UND can land this kid. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Jared-Tuilagi-119532;_ylt=Ah9jsVRFPP9lkGNqkrgwBWxIPZB4

It appears that Ryan Cain does in fact now have a rivals page that popped up, and he had offers from Northern Iowa and USD. It's not showing his UND commitment yet, however. http://rivals.yahoo....ElbFhzCL0FIPZB4

Being from the western part of the state in the middle of oil country myself (same town as SiouxDini above), I went back last May and was not impressed with what my town had become. I didn't even go out to the bar because I heard that it was not worth it with all the fights and what not. My parents retired this fall and moved down to Arizona, so I don't even know if I'll ever make it back. The oil money is great for the state (and was great for my parents in selling my childhood home), but I would not really want to raise my family back there.

It appears that UND has an offer out to a LB from Nevada that was on our interest list. LB Jared Tuiliagi Henderson, NevadaLiberty 6'1" 217 4.8 I've had my eye on him for a bit, and think he would be a great addition. Has offers from San Diego and Texas Southern. http://rivals.yahoo....prN08zRsTNIPZB4 Scout also has him with the same offers, but he is listed at 6'4" 220 lb TE. http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=8&c=1&nid=6069625

He doesn't have a rivals or scout page, so he wasn't on any of our amateur lists. I did find a rivals article about him (from October), but I don't have a membership so I can't read it. Maybe someone who has a membership can let us in on what it says. Looking for some other articles, he appears to be a WR & DB. 6'0" 185 pounds. http://highschool.ri...=&tid=&mid== Also, they play Jer's old team on a yearly basis, so these two probably knew each other prior so that may have been a connection.

GF Herald's Wayne Nelson calling UND "Green and White"
Hambone replied to fightingsioux4life's topic in UND Nickname
Well done, Ira, well done. You've expressed exactly how I feel and couldn't find a good way to put into words. Wonderful response, as usual, Fetch...... -
Didn't see this posted anywhere, but Daryl Brown was selected as a member of the CSJ All-Freshman Team for the past year, one of two Great West players to make it. Congrats Daryl! http://www.college-sports-journal.com/index.php/82-csj-releases/169-terrance-west-heads-up-first-csj-all-freshman-team

It doesn't appear that UND will land Brett Pierce, as his rival page has been updated to show high interest in NDSU, Minnesota and Wyoming. Too bad. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Brett-Pierce-128710

The Nebraska walk on program has hit us pretty hard this year. Not counting Foltz (in case he does come visit and changes his mind and commits to UND), we've lost three players off our offer list. Also, per the Yote board, TE Matt Miller has committed to USD.
-
It appears that Sam Foltz is going to walk on at Nebraska. His profile now has him with high interest in Nebraska and no interest anywhere. Not sure if he'll still take the visit up here next weekend or not.
-
Not sure if you are aware but Darell is a UND fan. Just thought I'd point that out.
-
He wasn't expected this weekend. The conflicting weekend is next weekend, not this weekend.

Here is a link to a place where you can find teams schedules that have been announced. It's put together by some people on the site, so it may not be completely accurate, but they are adding based on info that they can get. Still would love the Mines game off the schedule. http://www.championshipsubdivision.com/fcs-schedules/2012-fcs-football-schedules/

I think I know where you're going with that one. It's a good question......

Where as on scout it looked like Casey Jahn was visiting UND on 1/21, his coach mentioned it's actually NDSU. Not sure which is right. Fourth paragraph of the article. http://www.azcentral...inates-asu.html
