That's the one thing you said that I really can't agree with. The reason the Sioux penalty kill was so great against the Gophers was because of the goaltending. Both Jordan and Jake had strong games on the road in a high-pressure situation against one of the best offensive teams in the country. UND has two solid goalies. Minnesota has one. I like our situation much better than theirs.

The puck hit the blade of Parise's stick which appears to be over his head. It was a heck of a play to deflect the puck out of the air and toward the net. From behind, you can't see it hit the Gopher player, but you can tell by the way the puck changes direction that it probably did. They showed another angle from up ice where you can see it hitting Ballard. Shepherd may not have seen the puck hit Ballard because it happened so fast and it's difficult to see, even when slowing down the replay. Ballard might not have known that the puck hit him.

Sorry, but Parise is wrong. I watched the replay several times frame by frame. Zach clearly played the puck with a high stick. It did bounce off Ballard, but the rules say that an opposing player must control the puck before another player can touch it. Ballard obviously never had control of the puck. Say what you want about Shepherd's officiating, but he got that one right.
