    Sioux-gopher Week

You want thread atmosphere, too? Some people are just so hard to please. Of course, there are at least four threads currently active dealing with various aspects of the Sioux-Gopher series.
  2. Before I can answer that, I have to get past the idea that there's more than one person like Happy.
  3. I suppose if you count the fractions, you have to round up.
  4. You mean those six nicotine-stained Chicklets that we Sioux fans find so fascinating?
  5. No. Blais said something over the weekend about promoting Parise for the Hobey, but I can't remember the exact context. It seemed to me that the statement was made in the past tense. All the recent statements I've heard from Blais indicate that he believes Bochenski is the most deserving Hobey candidate at this point of the season.

    New Hire?

A good strategy under the circumstances.

    New Hire?

You missed the point -- not that it surpises me.
  8. Congratulations to Kevin and Jason. Is there any way they could make a guest appearance on the Sioux penalty kill this weekend?
  9. Which is where you should have left it.
  10. So leave. Stop torturing yourself.

    New Hire?

Did that guy get attacked by a staple gun-wielding terrorist or what? Unfortunately, at NDSU, reality bites.

There's a new rule this year that was instituted as a result of the Joe Exter-Patrick Eaves collision in the BC-Merrimack game last season. As soon as any player loses his helmet for any reason, the officials are required to stop play. Personally, I think the rule is an overreaction by the NCAA. Had it been in place last season, it would have done nothing to prevent Exter from getting his head smashed into the ice.
  13. I guess the effects of the UND Kool Aid haven't worn off yet.
  14. I would call that making my point for me. Thanks.
  15. It's not a question of you taking them.

It's not my fault. Diggler is a really bad influence on me.

I don't know what Shepherd saw, but I do know some of what he heard and it wasn't complimentary.

If you've been practicing and all you have to show for it is a cat, you're doing something wrong.

Gosh, I wonder why all this started on January 11?

How do you think familes get started?
  21. I think it was a couple weeks ago on the coaches show that Blais said he told JPar that if wanted to handle the puck, he should be a defenseman. Maybe Jordan took him up on it.

Thanks for the clarification. Listening to the game on the radio, Hennessy did say something about Campion trying to get between the two and having a hold on Hale's arms. It seems cheap to let Scott to get in a sucker punch and then allow the fight to continue after Hale is at a severe disadvantage.

    Well, you're half right.

Question: Are you saying that Campion's head was in the helmet at the time Scott was punching it? If so, I wouldn't think that the WCHA would want that sort of thing happening too often.

I'm bumping this thread back to the top because of related comments made over the weekend by Cornell coach Mike Schafer that are summarized here on USCHO in the sidebar titled "A Message." In its game with RPI, Cornell had two players injured from hitting from behind infractions that went uncalled. Here's the money quote from Schafer: Schafer's comments are being discussed in this thread on USCHO titled "Bravo to the Cornell Coach." Adam Wodon, who's a writer and columnist for USCHO, makes a good point in a post about Cornell that I think also applies to UND.
