So and so isn't playing to night because of coursework, yah, rriiiIIiiiight, more like it was a bunch of 18 and younger kids so coach played a bunch of the low guys and is making excuses...sadly, I don't think many college atheletes REALLY care THAT much about their grades as long as they can keep playing... before you get all defensive, maybe if you looked at what I said and how many posts I have here, you'd think twice about lumping ALL Gopher fans together, just like I don't lump ALL UND fans together. I DO get along with MOST of the SS.com peeps.... WPoS

quick comment here from the "enemy". I know it burns you guys to have a few players on the Gopher team that hail from NoDak, but c'mon, LOTS of teams have players from Minnesota playing on their teams and we don't get our undies in a bunch...does it "suck" as a Gopher fan to have a NoDak native helping my team win, NO, I don't care where you are from as long as the team wins! From what LITTLE I got to see/hear of the games it sounded like quite the battle, especially at the end of both games, I look forward to the series down here for another hard fought battle between two great rivals! basically, as someone else stated, these are college kids, playing an emotional game, they will do things like that. Comparing them and that type of behaviour to pro sport "atheletes" is kind of a stretch, not like the players think and plan their "move" like you KNOW footbal players do...whether you find it classless or classy, deal with it and move on, its going to happen with EVERY team at some point.... UND player does it it is cool, Gopher does it, it is showboating/being over the top... When Wally played for DU, I used to LOVE his antics, even from an opposing player. Was Metcalf's "shh" in 2002FF any worse? I thought UND fans had thicker skin... Grow up people.... WPoS

w/o reading the WHOLE thread, I'll make a comment or two here. I got to watch only a few parts and pieces of the game, and I got to see the last minute or so, I wouldn't be hard on your team or the coaches, UND played well at the end there, I thought my heart was going to jump out of my chest it was beating so hard. As usual, a UND/Gopher game ranks right up there in my book as a game to "must win", and I always get wound up when the score is that close. THe UND line out at the end of the game is dangerous and UND will go far this year, regardless of their age. I'll be happy with 2 points from your team this weekend (altho I'd prefer 3 or 4). Good times, good rivalry... Drop the puck! Shepards need some sheep! WPoS
