  1. All the Icebreaker games are on Fox College Sports Atlantic and Fox College Sports North depending on where you live. It's 3 - 1 Michigan right now.
  2. Boston Globe is reporting Bochenski will be scratched again tonight.
  3. Right now all of Boston is booked or gonna cost you an arm and a leg. Try the Sheraton - Braintree for a cheap stay. They advertise a free hotel shuttle to the nearest T-station.
  4. Well, if it's just one person and you're broke I have a couch you can crash on. Otherwise try the Midtown Hotel or the Hotel Buckminster for the cheapest hotels within city limits. I doubt they have vacancies but I know people tend to cancel at the Buckminster.
  5. Go to the Sioux website and click on the 2007 Prospectus link. There is a pronunciation guide included on the bottom right hand corner of I think page 3.

    Jason Blake

Link from TSN. He says it will not impact his ability to perform at a high level. All the best to him.
  7. JPar was doing so well until the third period . . . pitching a 22-save SO . . . then he gave up 4 goals and the Baby Devs lost 4 - 1.
  8. Another 2 - 2 tie for the Sioux. I don't know who won the shootout yet, but attendance was listed as 0, and I hope that was wrong. Edit: I believe UND won the shootout.
  9. Jordan Parise is in net tonight for the Lowell Devils season opener as Frank Doyle received an emergency recall up to the Devils. Karl Goerhing is now officially the Baby Pens backup goalie as David Brown was sent to Wheeling of the ECHL and John Curry is hurt.
  10. Yes, a healthy scratch. Rumor has it that he's Julien's new whipping boy. Reports have him in the doghouse for having a bad training camp. People say he's put on about 15-20 pounds of muscle but that he hasn't really adjusted to the change very well and it's affecting his play.
  11. Yes, the shootouts are purely to help determine the winner of the tournament. They do not factor into the official record of the game for season statistics. Idalski appears to have transitioned the Sioux very quickly. Hopefully NU will be as sieve-tastic tomorrow as they were last season.
  12. BU wins in a shootout. Good luck tomorrow against NU. It may not be the ***-whipping I'm hoping the men's team will give the Huskies in a couple weeks, but if you can get BU into OT you can definitely beat NU.
  13. 2 -1 BU with half of the third to go. Make that tied . . . and going into OT. I'm getting this from the USCHO boards cause there's no coverage elsewhere.
  14. The WBS Baby Penguins of the AHL have signed Karl Goehring to a professional tryout contract Info care of Faceoff Factor and confirmed at the Baby Pens site
  15. Well, I'm from Jersey and we never take I95 all the way up. I usually go 95 until CT then switch to I91 at Hartford then to I84 until I get to MA. Either way, make sure you get to I-90 East because the Mass Pike = Interstate 90. To get to NU, take exit 22 off the pike toward the Prudential Center (this one's a mall, not an arena). The Pru has a 24 hour parking garage off of Huntington Ave, and it's probably the closest one to Matthews Arena, about a 5-10 minute walk down the road. Edit: I take back the Prudential Garage being closest, but parking here sucks so it's good to have options. Closest Garage is at 10 Gainsborough St. Also near are the: Prudential Center Garage at 800 Boylston St. Copley Place Parking at 100 Huntington Ave. (you can't miss it as you get off the pike at Exit 22) Hynes Parking Garage at 50 Dalton St. And if you're really desperate: Newbury St. Parking Garage at 347 Newbury St. Boston Common Garage at 0 Charles St.
  16. So unfortunately for JPar, Frank Doyle passed through waivers unclaimed and they will probably split time again this season. Jordan played the second half of Lowell's preseason game against Bridgeport tonight and they won 3-2. Zach scored the winning goal for the Devils tonight on the 5 x 3 and barely even celebrated. Maybe it's because Travis wasn't on the ice with him. Also Coach Sutter has been using Zach and Travis together as a PK unit. This is the first time Zach has been allowed to kill penalties for the Devils, even though he proved he could do it in college.
  17. The T is an asset, but sometimes also a pain in the ass. Some other tips that might be useful: - The T stops running at 12:35 a.m. so plan your post-game celebration accordingly. Some Boston cabbies will take the most insane route back to your destination so as to run up the fare, especially if you're toasted and from out of town. - The price per ride is $2 with the Charlie Ticket so if you're planning on multiple rides for sightseeing or what not it may be better to pick up a one day pass for $7 or a week-long pass for $15 if you're staying the weekend. I'm pretty sure you can buy these passes at all the station ticket machines now. - If you like walking like I do, save some money, and don't take the T while in the heart of the city. Boston is definitely a walking city, and while you can't walk to Conte Forum at Newton University, walking to Matthews is definitely doable.
  18. Jordan Parise has been reassigned to Lowell . . . but the Devils waived Frank Doyle (Maine) so if he's claimed expect JPar to compete for the starting job against Dave Caruso (tOSU) and Jason Smith (SHU) Interview with Zach Parise about: training camp, playing with his brother, growing up with JPar, his expectations for this season, his chemistry with Travis etc.
  19. NHL.com article Better the Second Time Around Travis and Drew made the list of 2nd year players primed for success.
  20. JPar is not in the Devils lineup tonight, he did play in Lowell's last preseason game, they lost 2 -1 in a shootout. Travis scored the Devils 3rd goal in the first period tonight.
  21. So I'm sure we've all heard about how Dan Boyle recently got injured (severed a tendon after he hung up his skate, but got distracted and it fell on his wrist.) And uh, apparently that's not as uncommon as you'd think . . .
  22. Watched the Devs - Rags game tonight . . . Zach had a goal, a nice little wrister from the right circle. Jordan kinda got thrown in there after Weekes went down; a little shaky at first but got progressively better. Weekes is conscious and remembers what happened, but should he be out for any period of time I suppose most Devs fans believe JPar would get the nod over Doyle for the backup position. I'm just glad Avery didn't try to assault him too; that punk loves running Devils goalies.
  23. I believe Center Ice is going online this year and it's supposed to be about $100 for the whole season. That's cheaper than the TV package, so if you don't mind hooking the TV up to the comp you'd save some money. That's what I'm planning on doing this year.

    Away Series

That's cause BC Sucks . . . I'll offer what little info I know: BC: I won't be there 'cause my school's playing UNH that night. BC "Superfans" are behind both goals. Conte sucks, if you're in the upper seats chances are your view will suck. Don't know when single game tickets go on sale so you might be better off going through UND for them. Also beware as there will be dozens of annoying children running loose in the arena like it's their own personal playground (we like to call it Conte Day Care). Oh and bring earplugs so you don't have to listen to the band. Northeastern: You can buy single game tickets online here starting next month. The "Dog House" is in the upper balcony so try and stay in the lower bowl as I believe it's general admission and NU hardly ever sells out.
