http://www.news-leader.com/story/sports/college/msu/2014/09/07/bears-now-able-focus-home-opener/15264673/ Two things: 1) they moved the ball vs OSU 2) this isn't an ordinary home game for them
-
We knew they wouldn't be great in conference, but there's a world of difference between being a 5 or 6 win BSC team and being a 7 or 8 win NEC team.
-
With that O, I think they will have enough D to win it all.
-
Disappointing. Seeing they are comparable to RMU doesn't make me feel good about conference play.
-
I don't think it matters if they do it by committee or with a single rusher. There were only 3 games where they rushed for over 100 yards last year, and one of those was vs Valpo. To me if they go over 100 yards for the game and average 4 yards per carry it will go a long way towards a win.
-
What does that mean? They rushed for over 100 yds in both games. Are you looking at yards per carry?
-
You had to be happy with the Pokes this weekend. Gutty performances like that have been few and far between at War Memorial.
-
Between the UND performance and the Weber performance this weekend, I'm hesitant to anoint "bottom feeder" status just yet. Anyone know if the ac can "officially" take recruits to the gameday set or do they need to leave that to the recruits themselves?
-
Defense played up to expectations. Nicely done. Offense needs to get their s**t together in a hurry.
-
The NEC is terrible. When RMU was the conference champion the ac rolled them 43-17, and the ac had 4 conference wins that year. If you can't slap around the patsies on your schedule things are worse than I even thought.
-
Not me. RMU is a weak team in a weak league. Forget where we are in the BSC for a moment, just on an athlete to athlete basis, if UND can't roll this team at home on potato day I can't imagine what the conference season will be like. 42-13 UND
-
I make a motion we set a target date of the beginning of fall camp 2015 when we can get past Muss' "brick by brick" and now the "day by day" and move into "the time is now".
-
The coach was fired after a miserable season and the new coach starts his career by getting blown out. The program hasn't been so low in decades. If you are seeing arrogance at this website, you are coming here with an agenda.
-
You are not wrong

It will help Montana, as now at least they see what didn't work, but I think it helps the ac more. They will see how Montana will show in both their basic offensive and defensive approach. They can design alignment calls based on down/distance, formation, etc. Hopefully Montana brings out a bunch of new looks they haven't shown this year or last year on film.
-
Absolutely. But we know what we've got at #1 and #2. Haven't seen anything else at that level yet. I've seen all I need to see out of SELA, CC, and NH. Montana will tell me a lot in a few weeks. Do you have a dark horse?
-
If UNI can manage to beat the ac and get home field, they will have a shot. We will see where Montana stands when they go to Fargo in a few weeks. I don't see the rest of the top ten near the level of eastern and the ac. Barring injuries, they seem to be on a collision course to Frisco.

It could also be argued that the refusal of UND to move up with ndsu paved the way for the level of success they are seeing today. Up until the move up, UND was a legitimate competitor for corporate dollars, recruits, and on the field. By not moving up UND let the ac run roughshod over the entire state and region. Then to make matters worse, the ac takes those tools and builds a dynasty and now UND is in a position where they not only are competing for resources with the ac, but the ac has firmly entrenched themselves on the high ground and UND is left to storm the hill. Kupchella had such a terrible experience with the d-1 transition when he was in Missouri, I suspect he believed the dakota schools would suffer a similar fate.
-
Don't do that. He went to a private catholic high school in the cities and the bigs walked away when his grades didn't make the cut. Lapanta on KFAN couldn't say enough good things about him. The ac took a gamble when he had to sit out a year and it paid off. I wish UND would have done the same.

Crockett, Frazier, Morlock...any of them would start here.
-
I think a big part of the problem is expectations. I have read so much analysis here that bubba has things on the "right track". Now, I believe that bubba will bring the program where it needs to go, but I have seen nothing yet on the bottom line for me to conclude it is on the right track. A good recruiting class? Yeah, I heard that with Muss too. First game was a blowout, so I can take nothing from that. Again, I believe he will get it done but if we can say the program is "on the right track" after what we've seen so far, then the expectations for any FB coach here is far too low.

What could have been... @BadgerFootball: #Badgers ball! Schobert forces an #LSU fumble that Caputo recovers! Wisconsin takes over at Tigers' 31 #TexasKickoff

Wyoming scores on a 58 yard run. Maybe the griz is vulnerable on the ground? 17-6 Wyoming.
