  1. You've got to be joking right? Look at the roster? I've been down that road before. No thanks. How about we wait and see how they look when they've played some meaningful downs first. Let's chat about it on Oct 5th.
  2. Absolutely. That's who the football program is now. Just be happy and take it. Alrighty then.
  3. Yes. The presser sounded exactly like the offer. Arrogant and condescending. They might as well have been announcing the incarnate word game. At least they're consistent. They didn't feed us crap and then act like it was ice cream.
  4. I've seen predictions here from 3 wins this year to the optimistic 5 or 6 wins. Are you revising that to 6-8 wins this year? Not sure how a 3 win team could be looked at as having a solid chance down there next year, but who knows. #buyitout
  5. I want to vomit. Aw shucks ndsu, I'm just glad we could meet your lengthy list of demands for this to happen. Makes me sick.
  6. amen
  7. You would also think that since the terms of this deal suck so bad maybe BF could have negotiated a slightly higher ticket allotment? Good luck being one of the 500. #buyitout
  8. Thats a straw man, but good try. I compared the ac treatment of us and Ferris. It is undeniable they were treated more fairly. If Bubba has the program on the trajectory you and I believe it is on, then the teams would either meet in the playoffs at some point or we would finally be too good to ignore anymore. I really hope that would be sooner than 11 years. Even so, I was under the impression that more than a few of us had "moved on" since joining the BSC? #buyitout
  9. Absolutely. #buyitout
  10. The ac did something with the Ferris St offer and negotiation that is lacking here: respect Just because they want to treat you like a piece of s**t doesn't mean you have to agree and reply "thank you sir may I have another?".
  11. All that is still true if you agree on a 3rd game at the Alerus some future date. Wouldn't even need to be spelled out yet. Just SOMETHING to indicate UND will get a home game in exchange for going on the road twice. Nope.
  12. No return. Not even references to potential home and home.
  13. What does that even mean? That BF somehow feels bad that the AD that left in 2005 was standoffish, so now you owe them something? If BF is making decisions based on that, then I would change my opinion that he should keep his job.
  14. 1) I didn't predict embarrassment. I said I hope they don't...and when do you ever not go for the win? If BF cared about perception he wouldn't have signed this stinking piece of crap. 2) BF was offered and signed (reportedly) a 2 game road deal with no return. You are hoping for a unicorn.
  15. Why? Becuase keeping silent and accepting what the administration has done with the football program has been so effective until now? They've lost the benefit of the doubt.
  16. This is a terrible deal. BF has officially legitimized the insecurity and low self esteem image of the football program. He would laugh at an offer like this in ANY other sport, but he is now whoring out the football program. It is a slap in the face to every player that has worn the helmet at UND. To the ac, to our conference mates in the BSC, and to any observer of FCS football nationally, in doing this the UND football program looks only marginally more valuable than the d2 patsy you bring in for a W, as they are about the only other program to whom you would consider offering such awful terms. Essentially what BF has done here is dumped his product on the market at below cost in an effort to get rid of it in the hopes that someday he can make it up on volume. The problem with that is it shows how little value you really see in the product and they've given you no assurances of future business. I believe this product (football program) has value and is gaining in value every day. Every year the value increases the team gets harder to ignore. This game was gonna happen in time anyway. There was no need to do this. I really hope the team doesn't get embarrassed down there next season because that will make the prospect of that second game, WITH NO GUARANTEE OF A RETURN GAME, all the more disgusting.

    Fall Camp

Nobody should be surprised if transfers don't contribute as much as hoped. Who knows they still might, but all fans want to focus on is upside when the reality is there are reasons why guys transfer and those warts aren't worn out in the open. Even if none of the transfers contribute on the field (unlikely), I believe it will end up being worth it anyway if for nothing else than it created competition for jobs and made everyone perform at a higher level just to get on the field.

    SJSU Preview

This is a cliche, but I'm not concerned with SJSU at all. My interest only lies in how UND handles their business, and I'm talking about the self-discipline stuff. How many penalties? How many turnovers? Do we punt/cover kicks well (I'm serious about that). They will need to play a disciplined field position game and that means effectively punting and covering. How many explosive plays do they give up? SJSU will probably still win the game even if UND plays well in these phases, but I know if UND doesn't play well in these phases it will get ugly. More importantly, if they don't look disciplined, they are farther away from "bubba ball" than we hope they are coming out of fall camp.

    Fall Camp

It is very easy to dump on Muss now. But lets have some honesty. Yay or Nay: Who publicly supported Muss when he was hired, thought he would do a good job, and was totally and utterly wrong about that? Yay

    FCS Preseason Polls

It says something about your program expectations when you consider a 46-22 coaching record and an appearance in the national semifinal a "bad" coach.
  21. I would encourage you to read post #1925 of this thread.
  22. I think you misunderstand me. I say "keep dreaming" not because I think the neutral site thing is a bad idea. I say "keep dreaming" because the opponent views UND as a whore that is unworthy of an offer better than "come to my place twice or nothing". They certainly wouldn't invite a whore to a high profile event like a neutral site game in a large media market where we are both competing for recruits. ps-i apologize to anyone offended by my choice of words, but I'm calling a spade a spade from now on. No tip toeing around it anymore
  23. Seriously people? A neutral site? The potential opponent for this fantasy just offered you two road games, with no return. Keep dreaming.
  24. He did, but I would say that reflects his access to a higher caliber of recruit to mold into his image. Something else to consider: the difference of success at UND/SIU could also reflect the coaching staff's level of comfort recruiting a midwest footprint vs the SIU footprint. It isn't easy to perform at the same level when you are also out of your comfort zone. Good discussion.
  25. I've never believed what I'll call a "disciplined" style of ball is limited to certain recruiting areas. Saban showed it works at Michigan State, LSU, or Alabama. You need the kids to buy in.
