You're speakin' my language, old timer!
Curtis Murphy: A machine at keeping the puck in the offensive zone.
Travis Roche: PP has struggled since he jumped on that April plane to MSP.
I know it's been talked about ad nauseum in other threads, but we have no shot at this kid....none...zippo...nada. It's down to Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
I agree with that, but the student turnout Saturday night wasn't good. I'll give 'em the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to the football team getting their asses handed to them by Michigan St. This was our first trip to UW, and indeed, the extracurricular activities in Madison lived up to the billing. We will be back.
Some groups of Wisconsin fans apologized to us in the concourse between periods on two seperate occasions. An overwhelming majority of opposing fans are supportive of our nickname and logo, from my experience. This does not include the student sections, of course.
I wouldn't worry myself too much about what the POI crowd thinks. The quality of hockey discussion on that board has diminished in the last year or so to the point of becoming irrelevant. The Glen Mason stuff is about the only thing remotely interesting on there anymore. Personally, I'll stick to SiouxSports, INCH, and USCHO (the discussion forum notwithstanding) for my information.
If the SCSU program continues in this winning direction without better support, Hedberg should leave the program for greener pastures. Maybe that's a year or two down the road.
