I always loved that one!

The first thing that has to happen is to get the students moved to the end where the Sioux attack twice. This is where they belong. It's time to call the deal brokered by the student senate last spring what it is, a resounding failure. 103-106 should be all students. If that means moving some of them from upstairs, so be it. Blow the old seating chart up and start from scratch if you have to. Move 'em to the end, and let 'em have some fun. The second thing is to somehow increase funding and/or resources for the band. Whatever it takes to improve them, whether it be credits, more money, better leadership, etc. And move them downstairs amongst the students, too. I hold tickets to Friday games down on an end, and would gladly move to implement this. Something needs to be done this off-season, big time. I just hope Blais didn't have any recruits in last weekend. If I were an 18-to-20 year old kid and saw that atmosphere, UND would have plummeted down my list, maybe crossed off altogether. As far as the language issue is concerned, I land on the side of the administration on this one. But if what I've read here is true, people getting kicked out for "butt" or "sucks", then common sense needs to carry the day. To summarize, quiet students equals no fun. No fun equals good recruits going somewhere else, which results in less winning, which results in less attendance, which results in less revenue. Now we have it boiled down to a language that we can all understand. That is my take.

The Denver playoff series last year was a great atmosphere. Most of the students were gone for the beginning of spring break.

This would only work once per season, but I'll throw it out there anyway. As the last home game of the season is wrapping up, maybe after the 1:00 announcement, strike up the chant of "Thank you, Seniors!!"...clap..clap...clap-clap-clap, and keep going. After the handshake line, Lundbohm, Hale, and Palmo could come out to center ice by themselves for one last stick salute before they head for the Final Five. I think it would catch on with everybody, and could become a tradition. I know it might sound corny to some, but thought I'd lob it out there.

I agree. That would open up the game more than the rest of the proposed changes combined. The league is putting a painfully boring product on the ice. Joe Consumer, such as myself, will not shell out $100 a pop to have a boring time. So, you can either change the rules to make the game entertaining for the mainstream, or you can listen to the people that "know hockey" and buckle up for a contraction of 8 to 10 teams. It is another case of being "all about the Benjamins".

Speaking of The Ralph, I think it's safe to say that the intensity level in that place will up about 10 notches next weekend.

Eaves definitely has that program headed in the right direction. Props to UW.

Sioux will slip to #2 in the PWR, which is really the only criteria that matters.

I just finished listening to the KDAL feed.

2-2 tie, UMD at Mankato, trust me.
-
'Kato takes a point from UMD. 2-2 final. We have company.

Hey, at least you know how to skate!

Who is quitting?

Nothing is easy in this league. Ask Duluth. They are down 2-1 to MSU-M after two.
-
Bruckler coming up big on chances by Parise and Genoway.
-
SCORE! Murray on the one-timer! Genoway gets away with a trip on the other end.
-
3rd game in a row with a waved off goal. They disallowed it because it was "kicked in", yes?
-
I agree. I've put it full-screen on a 17-inch monitor, and can still follow the puck.
-
Outstanding quality on the webcast! Except I've rebuffered once already.

That would make last night's post-game activities here our own little SiouxSports.com version of a bar brawl.

Evenin' gents! Guess I'll belly up to the PC here are pour myself a cold one!

On a related note, Drew Stafford's picture was on the back of my milk carton this morning.

No reason to press the panic button after tonight. Yes, it was a tough loss...but it will be interesting how the lads respond to what is basically the first shred of adversity they've faced all season. I for one think they will come out flying tomorrow night, and will get the two points. That will leave us in first place by one point with four weeks to go, which ain't bad. If there was a silver lining for tonight's game, it is that the number one PP unit of Genoway-Jones-Money Line is really starting to click. Twenty-four hours from now, this little bump in the road will be but a distant memory.
