Tough to understand how some want to put a first year coach on the "hot seat". Mike Krzyzewski would have been gone after his first year with that standard.

It's a fun off-shoot of the Final Five, a gathering of like-minded UND fans, good food and we pretty much have the place to ourselves.

You can turn this into a negative about the program if that is what you are looking for. Leaving a program with one game left in a season is more a reflection on the players than the staff. No way the staff would kick players off a team with one game left unless there were major team violations or legal issues. What does it say about their relationship and connection with their team mates and their personal integrity - they were playing on scholarship and didn't fulfill their part of the deal.

A coaching change over means the new coach gets to develop the program the way he wants and with players that fit the needs of the new program direction. Not to bash the two that are leaving but if you have seen any of the games and focused on their play you would not be that concerned about these departures. In fact with two scholarships free it means the coach can bring in two new players that better fit the future needs of the teams. I am totally not concerned about the direction of this team and see Brewster easily able to bring in the talent needed to put it at the top of the Big Sky and keep it there.

Wish them well, hope they find what they are looking for. Forwarding thinking now - two scholarships that Brewster can use to build his team, that could make for a very strong freshman class next year - not unusual for freshman to make an impact on a team. Oh and I assume this means we won't see UND shirts on su football players anymore or hear them say "Sioux Suck" at their national championship rally.

Great - you've accomplished the daily goal of every su blogger that frequents this site - why don't you just take turns.

This game won't happen - by not playing, su maintains the only advantage they have - the unknown. Thinking back to the last 10 years of the rivalry they were pretty confident every year they were going to win - how did that work out for them. They can't take the chance of playing UND and losing. Those who want to hate will always find something to hate about. This is a typical chat room mountain out of a mole hill. Love the irony of the name of this thread and this incident being beat to death within in.

Not real clear on how this could have been "Handled internally" as the next broadcast would have been without Ralston and questions would have been asked. Then it becomes "a coverup". I guess it goes back to the new age we live in - announcers are employees of the school they cover, they sign a contact, they know what is in the contract, they know the ramifications. Chat rooms and media can make this bigger than it is. If an employee gets suspended for something they said publicly about the company they work for it's not news in the newspaper or on the radio.
