  1. I also thought the crowd was bigger than the reported number yesterday. In any event, the difference between a Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon, not to mention the increased stakes today, should add up to a much, much bigger crowd. I expect well over 2000, and a nearly full house would not be too surprising. It's been seven years since we've seen a game of even remotely comparable magnitude at the Betty.
  2. Heard a pretty amazing stat today--barring some kind of shocking at-large selection, all of Indiana's 10 division I men's teams have been eliminated from NCAA tournament consideration. I wonder if that's happened before since the tournament expanded to 64?
  3. A bit of a fluke, but they did play pretty well down the stretch. They very nearly lost in the quarter finals of the tournament, but a last-second 3 won it.
  4. I don't think it was announced today.
  5. Madi Buck selected as Big Sky player of the year. Emily Evers co-winner of 6th-player of the year. Kelsey Knox newcomer of the year.
  6. Not Big Sky related, but a big upset in Sioux Falls this afternoon--USD knocked off SDSU in the Summit semi's.
  7. The 2014 season just got two days closer--opener at San Jose St. has been moved up from August 30 to August 28.
  8. Herald article said it's a bit down from last year, but better than the last time it was in GF. I have no idea about how it compares to other years.
  9. They won in 2009: http://ndsportspage....onships-Class-B As I looked over that list, it's hard to believe Hillsboro hasn't won a title since 1981.
  10. 3. North Star 4. Linton 5. Cavalier 6. Beulah 7. Flasher 8. New Town Attendance was also pretty good--7100 for the championship game and 30,000 for the tournament.
  11. Per SFI, Colton Boas has committed to UND.
  12. What a difference a year makes in the Big Sky. Last year, Montana and Weber St. combined to go 37-3 in the conference, and won 25 and 30 games, respectively. This year, 14-6 won the league, and 12-8 was good enough for a tie for second. It's possible no Big Sky team will even make it to 20 wins on the season.
  13. Wave totally dominating now--5-1.
  14. EGF scores again, now 4-1 late second period.
  15. No, but he is a UND grad. He succeeded Tim Miles at Mayville, and had a lot of success for a couple of years there (including a win over UND) before moving on to become a Miles assistant at Colorado St. and now at Nebraska. He was considered a candidate for the UND job the last time, but did not meet the minimum requirements as set by Buning and Ralston, due to his experience being mostly at the NAIA level at the time.
  16. I'm still holding out hope that after next season, this guy will be UND's coach: http://www.huskers.c...TCLID=205435851
  17. I had to leave after the third quarter, and was shocked to hear that Linton had won. I thought that in terms of athleticism and strength, Cavalier looked vastly superior (Linton players looked really scrawny and they struggled on the boards), but in the first half Linton's hot shooting kept them pretty much even. I expected Cavalier would win going away after they seemed to take control in the third quarter.
  18. That question crossed my mind, also. I also thought he might be a candidate for a job on Kotelnicki's staff.
  19. From Vandrovec's blog this morning: http://terryvandrove...tuesday-tidbits I can't help but wonder whether Bubba simply didn't offer Schleusner a job as a position coach, or whether Schleusner was too proud to take a demotion at UND, even though he probably knew full well he wasn't going to get another OC job at this juncture of his career.
  20. Schleusner has been hired as TE coach at SDSU: http://www.gojacks.c...TCLID=209416336
  21. Ohio St. finished the sweep today, 3-1.
  22. Possibly, but at 153 pounds it would be difficult to imagine he'd hold up very long.
  23. I was really hoping that a couple of juco transfers could be signed in time to enroll for the second semester. Spring ball will be difficult with potentially only one true corner. I would not be surprised if both 2014 starting corners aren't even on the team yet.
