  1. A few possibilities would be Coyle (good athlete) and even McGill (was considered a good corner prospect coming out of high school). Other than that, I don't really know.
  2. I think the chances are better of finding somebody who can actually contribute at corner by switching positions rather than new walk ons, but I guess we'll see. I don't necessarily think the previous regime had everybody playing the correct positions anyway.
  3. Who do you see making the switch? At least two will have to in order to even have scrimmages.
  4. Any chance Butler gets a look at corner this spring? He's got the speed, and having a physical 6'2" corner would be nice. I have to assume there will be at least a couple of players who have to switch to corner this spring out of necessity. Butler may be as good of a candidate as any.
  5. I've wondered the same thing. Dorn has to be pushing retirement age (she graduated from college in 1972), and my guess is that when she retires they may change the job description to a SWA.
  6. UND lost 52-49 today at Montana.
  7. I agree. With last year's extension of Jones' contract through 2016-17, it virtually guaranteed that he is at UND through 2014-15 at the absolute minimum. And it would probably take a disaster of 2013 UND football proportions for anything to happen after next season, either.
  8. SFI is now saying they may have had bad info regarding Benyard, and no longer think he's signing. He may have never committed in the first place.
  9. Cedric Simmons has committed to UND, per SFI.
  10. New Herald article: http://www.grandfork...s-sees-big-bump Beck and Coyne are previously unreported commitments, correct? Per SFI, Coyne is a PWO. Not sure about Beck.
  11. According to this article: http://collegebasket...asketball-coach, Jones is under contract for three more seasons after this year. Given the recent contract extension, I don't think Faison is going to be in any hurry to make a change.
  12. Parks is apparently going to walk on at Minnesota.
  13. With regard to redshirting, I was trying to think of UND players from the past who redshirted for reasons other than injury and who went on to have productive careers. Obviously Wilmer, Brekke and Schuler did, but you almost have to disregard redshirting during the transition as that was a unique situation with very limited post season opportunities and very little to play for in the Great West. In terms of perimeter players, I believe Mike Boschee, Jeff Brandt and Mike Johnson all did. In terms of bigs, Chris Gardner, Todd Rypkema and Evan Lindahl all did (I think). I'm sure I'm missing some, but the successful use of a redshirt year seems to have been pretty rare, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. If there's a decent chance a kid can contribute as a true freshman, he's unlikely to redshirt.
  14. Looks like juco running back Cedric Simmons is visiting UND this weekend: http://recruiting.sc...c=1&nid=7268971
  15. Szczyrbak and Jake Disterhaupt were high school teammates, correct? Not to say that is necessarily a huge deal, but it may not hurt, either.
  16. According to a comment from the most recent SFI blog entry, Blake Weber is visiting UND this weekend, also. Not sure if that's been reported earlier in this thread or not.
  17. Does anybody know whether UND is still recruiting Raymonte Maynard? http://recruiting.sc...c=1&nid=6640006
  18. He didn't run track. Played baseball. Hard to believe SDSU was his only division I offer.
  19. Apparently Jason Thier, who coached inside linebackers for UND last year, is the new Mary DC, and Kelling was the only Mary assistant from last year not retained by Kotelnicki.
  20. Maybe I'm off base, but I've always assumed that the fact that UND and SIU only played the one time--Lennon's first year there--meant that he didn't want to play the game again. And if he didn't necessarily relish the idea of playing a Muss-led UND team, I really don't think he's going to want to play now that Bubba is the coach.
  21. Lavachek from Williston St. is one. At least I've heard UND is interested.
  22. I noticed that John Kelling, who was UMary's defensive coordinator the past two years, is apparently not on Kotelnicki's staff. Does anybody know where he is now?
  23. The Perham kid is supposed to be here next weekend.
