He was a great man and a great leader. I remember that he knew my name. I was by no means an outstanding student. I was actually a quite lousy one until I went back later and finished my degree. But, when he would walk by me on campus, he'd ask how I was doing by name. I'd always reply, "Doing great, Dr. Clifford! How are you?" It would always perk me up. He also knew many of my friend's names on campus. We were all just average students trying to get by. That always amazed me about him. I always wondered if he sat down and memorized students names. Sometimes he'd stop and talk to students in a crowd. When he did, he would joke with us, but he also really wanted to know what we thought. Then, he'd tell us what he thought and would always give us an encouraging word. He was definitely a people person, he loved to get around the campus and mingle with the crowd. We need more leaders like Dr. Clifford.

I don't know. Parity in the league makes Bye an opponent that cannot be overlooked. I doubt the boys will pick up any points this coming weekend.

Jeez. This "reporter" obviously is getting too used to DU's fans sitting on their hands the entire game. DU's arena has always been a boring place to watch hockey.

Notice how there aren't any comments on that article? Not one. Nobody bothered lifting a finger on their keyboard in support or in opposition to that article. Why would that be? It's because in Denver, nobody in the media gives a crap about DU hockey. That story is so buried in the Denver Post it's pathetic. They pay more attention to CU Buffs buckets. CSU Rams buckets too. Denver University buckets even seems to get more press. They all suck. Even the women's teams. Horrible. Of course, they have the Avalanche and the Nuggets, but in college spectator sports, there's nothing even close to success as DU hockey on the front range. (spectator sports, not counting skiing, which DU And CU kick butt year in and year out.) Their hockey team, which is honestly pretty darned good, gets little press. More people attend those games than any of the above college programs mentioned. Yet, they draw under half of what UND draws in REA. Maybe his little hissy fit has more to do with what he sees at REA and in Grand Forks than it does with watching his team miss out on a penalty chance. Maybe he gets sick to his stomach every time looks over the REA and says to himself, "WTH?, we have a nice arena, but this is a frickin' palace! God, things look bleak if they get our recruits in this joint!!" Maybe his hissy fit has more to do with getting attention than anything else. Just like a little child. He kind of looks like a spoiled little brat, doesn't he? He should have gotten at least a one game suspension from DU.

Tell me you guys aren't just watching a replay of the Sioux/Gophers series!

I'm glad this thread started early this year. Not because I want the coach fired. It just seems that when this thread started last year, things turned around. I'm superstitious that way.

Probably! However, I dig the Habs hat. I couldn't bring myself to do it. I just got finished buying a new hat through the Ralph. Got a few bumper stickers, one for my truck, one for my car and one for my sailboat (that'll confuse the hell out of the other folks on the lake!) Got a sign too. My ol' hat is a bit beat up, so a new one was needed. Then, I'll park the Habs hat until certain playoff nights at the bar! Now, my shame is over...

Damn! I'm sitting at my computer with a NHL hat on. Of course, it's got the Habs logo! One of my favorite NHL franchises. I hadn't a clue about this contest, or I would have spent time voting for the Sioux! Jeez... I'll pay penance and spend the next week in my Sioux hat. I"ll even buy a new one. I feel shame.
