  1. I can't speak for NDSUguy but I think he's referring to the all other sports part and not football. I think the whole deal is a good thing for UND. Not an end all be all by any means but better then going the independant route for years to come. Riverman don't make blanket statements about "all the Bison supporters" as you say. Most I know have nothing but great respect for the GWFC.
  2. Your post really deserves no response it's so foolish but I'll play your game. Ask any knowledgable fan who follows different conferences. Can any number be worked out as you say? Sure but is it ideal for a conference to have say 11 teams for football? The answer to that is obviously no ( or it's obvious to knowedgable fans anyway). On the flip side do conferences see a certain number as being ideal? The answer is yes. If nobody left the conference then you have 11 teams. Go back and re-read all the different threads on many message boards and see for yourself what the majority opinion is on this topic. 11 teams is not a good number. Could it happen, I suppose but then again MNPLS might also be voted as the all time best NDSU poster on all message boards too, that will happen about the same time you buy a NDSU tailgateing rig and become a Bison fan.
  3. Just who do you think will be leaving the MVFC to make room for them? Another one of your wet dreams.
  4. One thing I think everyone here would agree on. A state with the population of North Dakotas doesn't need 11 higher ed institutions. Talk about a waste of tax payers dollars.
  5. One more quote from that article which is 100% spot on.
  6. No not a new Sheriff but a political stooge. The NDUS has turned that position into a politcal hack. Of course you won't agree since you think it will benefit UND. The Fargo Forum has it right when they had the editorial in yesterday's paper. The NDUS is nothing more then a political machine, they didn't like Paulsen so they ousted him. He made tough decisions but "fair" ones that didn't benefit anyone instiution over the other. We shall see how this new "Sheriff" as you like to call him is but I won't be one bit surprised if and when he turns into a political hack for UND. To Quote the forum
  7. Don't worry they will come up with some goofy concocted numbers using million man march math to keep any alleged advantage
  8. Another good post by Hammersmith.
  9. Herein lies the problem with getting the two back together on the playing field or anywhere for that matter. Problem is you really believe the crap you type.
  10. Wow the ignorance in that post is profound. Please try to put a little thought into your posts, I know you want to smack NDSU anytime & anywhere possible but to say that just proves you shouldnt be posting.
  11. He didn't bow down to the mighty und powergrabbers as has been done in the past. He also contrary to what many here want to believe took politics out of the process just as the editorial stated. Looking on this website for any unbiased opinions of anyone on the SBOHE who doesn't kiss und ass is a waste of time.
  12. If you had a recruiting class like Winkelman, Nelson & Woodside then yes i'd say your expectations are grounded in reality. You don't appear to be bringing in that kind of talent so therefore I'd say those expectations of yours are not realistic. Besides the basketball successes of recent history at UND are pretty marginal. You have to go back a few years. Not saying it can't happen for you but I don't see anything in who you have recruited that can match the three players I mentioned.
  13. I think you will compete but I don't think it will be next year (not at the level the original poster is hoping for anyway) which is the only reason I brought up that post. I believe it will take a few years and I still think your coach is an unknown factor. Time will tell if he can coach at this level or not but nothing is a given. Note I didn't even comment on the 20 wins part of the original post. That would have been too easy.
  14. You go back to the 60's with NDSU's record trying to make your point about our transition? That's funny, I'm talking about what the UND Mens Basketball teams record was this year not in the 60's or 70's or 80's or even the 90's. Lets talk about this year's team and who you have coming back and coming in for next year. You expect that team to compete and beat established DI teams? Good Luck with that. You can try to change the subject to NDSU all you want and the records they had 20 or 30 years ago but the UND mens team this year was god awful so pointing out that comment just seemed appropriate. Carry on.
  15. Unless I missed something the team you guys had on the court throughout the season didn't look like they were going to compete real well in DI. Unless you have a boat load of talent that will play immediately coming in the "Beat an established DI on their court" comment seems pretty far out there.
  16. I have to admit I was surprised by all this. I originally was an admirer of Glas for what he was able to do at UND but then kind of turned stale due to his comments about NDSU going DI while he was still at UND. But I will be interested to see what he can do with the cobbers it should be interesting. It sounds like he's taking over with a team that's pretty well stocked for the future.
  17. UND and it's supporters really need to move on from this issue. It's not going away and threatening to vote against the three stooges when your talking about this issue will fall on deaf ears.
  18. I do have to admit I chuckled when I looked at the picture above the blog. Looks like they have grade school kids doing the reporting. Without being there I really can't say to much, I can understand the crowds dissapointment in UND if they didn't know what the players were told. On the other hand are fans in SD that rough that Roebuck would order his players off the court? That seems a like a lame excuse to me but if the girls were told that you can't fault them.
  19. The comments were in fact from a commission member rearding the done deal Hambone.
  20. The lease is already in place. So no it doesn't need approval unless I missed something.
  21. The Dome addition is a done deal.
  22. And this has what to do with NDSU"s 2008 schedule?
  23. I'm not going to make excuses for Amy as none are needed but the recruiting comment I think is somewhat valid but you also have to consider that about that time she had some personal health issues (cancer) that she was dealing with. If her recruiting slipped which I think it did I believe it had a lot to do with that.
  24. I'll buy a ticket for that ship
