Ok, In simple english as stated in the article here it is. "A disagreement between UND President Charles Kupchella and Chancellor Eddie Dunn over a medical school funding request during the legislative session takes up a third of Kupchella's otherwise positive review." Did not the employ of UND go to the legislators looking for funding? Did not kuppy himself state it was underfunded and therefore explained that as the reason for what he did? Bottom line is your guys did the same thing, went to the legislators not the board and to which many posters here on SS.Com were furious about when NDSU did it. All I'm asking is where's the same outcry now from the sioux faithful over this? I have yet to see any. To me that stinks of hypocrisy. You can try to spin it anyway you want bottom line is your guys went to the legislators looking for funding to which so many on this board howled about when NDSU did the same thing. You can dish it but you can't take it!
-
Not baiting anyone but obviously the blinders are siouxper sized here on SS.com No outcry of criticism for kuppy like there was for chapman. Call it what you want, I call it hypocrisy.
-
Say what you want Shawn-O but if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck then its a duck. You guys are doing the same dam thing but you won't be critical of your president or his staff like you were Chapman. Spin it any way you want that makes you feel better. Bottom line is your universities representatives didn't go through the channels as you guys wanted Chapman to instead your representatives went directly to the legislature "like Chapman did" but now all of a sudden its no big deal. Only because it's going on in your own house. Like I said, Hypocrite's each and every one that was on the Chapman story. Where's the outrage now? Oh wait its ok when its going on in your own camp.
-
I couldn't resist coming over to check and see if all the consipiracy theorists were going to be all over this one. Of course not, it's going on in your own camp. Remember the old saying those who live in glass houses!!! Great to see you guys keeping your track record of tunnel vision or a blind eye to what you don't want to admit too in tact. Hypocrits once again. You were hypocrits on the DI move and now this.

I'm curious to get peoples opinions on something. I've been following this over the afternoon since I heard the news VD pulled his name out. It's my opinion that Dale is the front runner and the job is his to take or not but some have made comments here and on other boards to the effect that the Montana State job is not attractive or has problems. I won't disagree that the state of affairs that Kramer left things in is perfect as we all know they are not but things are looking pretty tough for you guys right now going into the transition. The new president coming in will definelty have a lot of influence on how the transition goes and Dale doesn't know who that's going to be or what kind of support he may get from the new president. Then you have the AD questions that have been brought up on this board to which only Dale, the AD and the President really know about but from an outsiders perspective things don't look great there either. Then the lawsuit issue which is looming. The transition and conference affiliation questions loom large. So with those issues out there why do people think he may see the Montana State job as so terrible? Just curious what your thoughts are.

This is hilarious. The man compliments your coach and you have to find some ulterior motive? We don't even play you nor will we for the forseeable future and yet there is still some kind of conspiracy or motive behind his article? Way to funny. You would have been bashing him if he had written an article saying why Dale wouldn't be considered and giving his reason for that. Then you'd still be whining about how he's wrong only because he's an NDSU alum. What a Maroon.

So I guess your going to be calling it the Mid-Con if you get an invite eventually while the rest of the conference calls it the Summit League? With that logic you should just stay DII and you don't have to worry about what to call it.
-
Glad I could entertain Jim.
-
I can't help but comment that the original thread was named "New FCS, Summit Conference-worthy logo" Don't you think you are getting the proverbial cart in front of the horse? Some may consider that a little arrogant.

That term is generally used to describe someone with whom you feel is either an idiot or of lesser intelligence. I think if you ask the younger generation where the term originated what the meaning of Rube is you will find they wouldn't want to be described as "A Rube". It certainly doesn't infer a positive which if you read your reply it certainly wasn't meant as a compliment and hence was not necesary to even say in your response. Either way if people don't see that as an insult or meant in a derogatory manner then I can understand why you guys see things the way you do. Since Rube is just another term then I guess to say you guys are all rubes isn't an insult. Carry on all you Rubes.
-
Thank you for a a response that was well thought out, written and didn't have personal or snide attacks simply based on where I live. Goon you may want to take a lesson from your counterpart PCM.

I find it interesting that you just dismiss the people who don't agree with you as a "small group" Whatdo you base this assumption on? Or is it just a way of making you feel your arguement against the NCAA is more legitimate? Just curious.

I agree but this one falls on the prosecutors. They went after all or nothing. They rolled the dice and the public is the loser as this guy with his track record will surely be in the news again somewhere sometime. The prosecutors gave the jury no choice however, they didn't prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt and they forced the jury to play the hand they did. I bet if you asked the jurors if they had a choice between the Capital murder charges or also could have considered a lesser charge they would mot surely have convicted him on the lesser charges. The prosecutors surely knew when they chose to charge him with 1st degree murder and the jury would not be able to consider lesser charges that the case had to be a slam dunk or the guy would walk. Now he's free, I'm sure that at least some of the jurors felt that he should have served some time but were able to do nothing about it.

Sioux-Cia, no problem, I just know after having worked in that field how frustrating it is to arrest someone just to see the judge slap them on the wrist and poof they are free. The biggest problem in this country is we don't enforce our existing laws and then when something happens we usually overract to the situation for a while and then things go back to normal. People like Rosie O Donnel want to harp or play the blame game. Blame the legal system for making a mockery out of our laws and the lack of enforcing them in the courts.
-
I'm not just referring to Mass Murderers here. You look up any stats on the percentage of crimes (violent crimes) being committed in this country and you will see that by percentage of the population the illegals in this country are a huge contributor to that percentage. Need I go on!?!

I own 1 handgun, Worked in Law Enforcement and I still have my duty weapon. Won't ever sell it but I haven't been out to the range since I left the law enforcement field. People who trumpet gun control I never have understood. Fully automatic weapons yes but sporting arms no. The events in Blacksburg just point out that you don't need fully automatic weapons. This carnage was all done with a 9mm glock and a 22 cal handgun. Unless the gun control advocates want to do away with all private ownership of guns (which some do) you will never be able to just pick and choose which weapons to outlaw. Obviously fully automatic weapons have no place in the private sector, only the military need weapons like that IMHO but gun control in general is not the answer. Figuring out just who we are letting into this country on the other hand is!

Go over and register and I will get you signed up. You would be #4 for UND which I think is a good number. That way you only have to write once per month unless of course you would want to write an additional column.
-
Proud Sioux you should have an email, check it. Thanks

Hi Sioux_Yeah_Yeah Just want to get some regular contributors to the blog from each University. I don't want this to become a job for everybody but moreso to be fun. You could write about anything you want regarding UND or any other school if your so inclined. It doesn't have to be about sports either but of course that's going to be the primary topic for each university. If your interested go over and register and I can set you up. Let me know if your up for it and It would be great to have you on board. Shawn-O and one other UND fan have offered so with you that would make 3. Let me know. BB.
-
Bin, you game to blog?
-
Folks, just to make this clear. I'm not wanting to turn this into a UND vs NDSU or any other school thing. I know there will be some of that it's unavoidable but for the most part it can be an enjoyable site if we want it to be. So far Shawn-O and 1 other Sioux fan have signed up. I'd like to get a couple more. This will be a section of the site for UND bloggers. Each University in the Great West as well as the Gateway will have bloggers. So you see it's not going to be a smack fest but a Fan's opportunity to blog and represent each university. So lets have some fun with this I welcome all Sioux fans to at least give it a chance. You might just like it.

I'm looking for 3 or 4 representatives from UND's fan base who'd like to become regular contributors to the new BSNBlog at http://www.bisonsports.net/bsnblog/index.php/all so if your interested pm me here or over at bisonsports.net Looking forward to hearing from some of you. It's your chance to represent UND on the blog. Will be getting representatives from each of the other Great West and also Gateway schools. Should be a great time. See you there. If you have questions go to the blog and email me. Not looking for Smack here either folks. Thanks

That's way too funny. Question for MPLBison, you've had many a theory on how the NDSU vs. UND game would happen. Now your on a UND is going to get into the gateway? What is it you smoke where ever you live? Did you not hear the News Conference today? That question or one just about like it was posed and the commish said the conference is not looking at expanding again. Now back on topic, I hope you guys get a good OOC game scheduled. As far as the previous comments about me I don't hate UND at all. The person who said just because one has a different opinion didn't mean it was hateful was correct. Oh and is it ok if I say I DON'T Love DaveK cuz I don't. I do think he's certifiable tho
