They were courtesy calls. They want to keep a relationship with Davies, they have a good looking d-back that will be a senior next year, That is their real target.
-
I have connections in the Hawley area that have told me that UND coaches have been in contact with Ellefson since he committed to NDSU. I couldn't believe it, Not Bubba!! Guess what, they ALL do it. Every recruit that has committed to NDSU and have been on the radio with your play by play guy have said the calls still come even after they have committed. That is college football these days. If you are trying to say NDSU coaches do it more than everybody else, you are fooling yourself.
-
Not never, but recently, not very often. Even this year when the recruiting machine Bubba had a full year to recruit, NDSU won an incredible amount of the recruiting battles with UND. I think NDSU will be just fine without the Hartness twins.
-
Last I checked Iwarri Smith is a top recruit of UND's 2015 class. How is he off topic?
-
That is probably what he means. I hope it works out for him and UND. Michigan has never been very good to NDSU. The handful of athletes they have gotten from Michigan over the past 5 or 6 years haven't worked out. They have a D-lineman from last years recruiting class that hopefully will work out. With so many MAC teams in Michigan, I think they scoop up most players that are borderline Good FCS/Lower Level FBS quality.
-
Perhaps here. I guess his connection to NDSU goes back a little further than Friday's flight.
-
Sorry, but I was sure someone on this thread was concerned about Smith following NDSU coaches on Twitter long before his visit this weekend. Is that not true?
-
And I think he will be in GF next year and will probably be a good player for UND. But "on the clock" is generally a draft phrase when teams are picking players, making it sound like if NDSU wants to choose him, they better decide soon.
-
Of course you do. Although he follows NDSU coaches and tweets an NDSU National Championship ring. I would guess the latter is more realistic.Kind of strange for a kid to keep tweeting about a school other than the one he committed to. I would call this one a very soft verbal. Although I don't see NDSU offering him. They are pretty full of db's.

We will agree on one thing, they need a bigger recruiting budget. Do you think Hak flies kids into Fargo?
-
My question is why is UND flying recruits into Fargo. It seems rather stupid to me. You may save $100 but you are making it look like Grand Forks is some rinky dink town with no flights in and out. Is that the impression you want to give recruits?
-
They better make sure he heads straight north on I-29 when he lands at Hector tomorrow afternoon.
-
Absolutely, A major national sports network will bring a crew of 50 and set up shop for a week and air a 3-hour national telecast in front of the Ralph this hockey season. When UND gets to the Frozen Four in April, all of the local TV stations will send not only Sports reporters, but news anchors and reporters, teams of photographers, and will air hour long or longer pre-game shows the night before and the morning of the game. Even stations from Western ND will send people to the game.15 to 20 thousand fans will travel a 1,000 miles to the championship game. The complete season of UND hockey tickets sell out in less than an hour after going on sale, I guess you are right, nobody can argue with you. UND hockey is much bigger than NDSU football..
-
Yep, and all NDSU fans and fans of March Madness can remember about last year's men's basketball season is that NDSU lost to UND. Nobody cares or remembers they made it to the Big Dance and beat Oklahoma.
-
So you can fool the NCAA but telling them you sold 15,000 seats in a 12,000 seat stadium? I guess the NCAA is stupid. The 50,000 fans for a "Neutral site" game at TCF Bank stadium won't happen. NDSU wouldn't agree to it.
-
And which partners have 15k stadiums and which ones that do have even a chance of averaging 15k if they do?
-
We can all agree on this. Prayers for all involved, all of the injured students and their families, and for the student and driver that lost their lives and their families. It will be hard and take a lot of time, but hopefully all can forgive and get through this tragedy. Maybe crossing arms at all rural railroad crossing would be too expensive, but how about a solar powered flashing sign or light when a train is approaching or present. That would be fairly inexpensive and well worth the cost if it prevents even one of the tragic accidents.
-
And what happens when only the Montana schools qualify after the 2 years are up? UND will not triple their attendance to 20,000 for the first games of the season when they are playing the same schools that they are playing right now. Call a new Big Sky FBS or FCS, you are still playing the same teams you are drawing 6 to 7 thousands fans per game now.
-
And the NCAA is going to give Big Sky members what 15 to 20 years to comply with the attendance requirements of FBS? Exactly how are Kelley and Faison going to be able to convince the City or State to give them $150 to $200 million for a stadium so they can go FBS when their 12,000 seat stadium is half empty right now? UND football does not have a supply problem, they have a major demand problem.
-
If you are talking about UND and the Big Sky going to the 2nd tier of college football below the P5, then that may happen. They would go along with the MVFC, CAA, etc. If you are talking ONLY the Big Sky is going to that level you are smoking something. So because the Big Sky has Idaho as a non-football playing member, the NCAA is going to give the BSC a waiver to go FBS along with a majority of schools that have NO chance of meeting FBS minimum standards? Even Idaho didn't come close to qualifying in attendance last year. Please keep talking. You are making us dim-witted Bison fans look awfully bright. Why stop at just FBS. Maybe the P5 wants the Big Sky. Maybe nobody told those presidents that the Big Sky now includes THE University of North Dakota. That ought to turn some heads.
-
You say you are getting your information from an article that doesn't even state that Fullerton's plan has one president that is in favor of an FBS move. Where are you getting the 8 presidents in favor of such a move?
-
If you start both Calc or Shanks, at least one of them ends up having to most likely guard an athletic 6-4 to 6-6 kid that can shoot or drive by them if they play tight defense. What you lose by giving up easy points you won't gain back with your bigs very limited offensive ability.

dcameron, on 30 Dec 2014 - 10:52 AM, said: Man, as a nurse I have NEVER heard this one. After laughing for 5 minutes, I will commit this to memory! Thanks, And He has already been to Grand Forks to perform a Lobotomy...
-
Maybe Tom Miller can use an open records request to get emails and phone records of Faison and Kelley to back up your claim. If there is a secret deal that FBS is a done deal for UND and the BSC, there has to be some communication to that effect.

Yes, The five minutes or so I watched him it looked like 30-40 pounds would help him out. You don't see a lot of 200-210 pound big men do really well in D1 basketball unless they are freakishly athletic.
