Not only a larger venue, but a venue that is set in advance so people can buy tickets and reserve flights and rooms ahead of time. Plenty of people go to the Final Five every year even if their team isn't in it (or maybe that's just UND fans).
-
You mean you're not halfway off the ledge, 15 minutes after some vague information is released about something that goes into affect a year and a half from now, like everybody else is? And here I thought I was the only one.

If you took the time to read the links I so graciously posted for you, you would see that the unless the random guy was being rude and disrespectful in one of the forms of unprotected speech, then yes, you would be legally responsible, as affirmed by the US Supreme Court. I don't think this needs to be explained any further. I gave you the links to figure it out. I know you're talking about within the context of a sporting event, but when you start referring to what YOU can do that is protected behind "freedom of speech", then you're not talking about a sporting event anymore.

If you're so insistant on hiding behind the First Amendment, perhaps you should know how it reads before you do. Your response quoted above is to a comment "tnt" made saying "I believe you rule out words and gestures, because that is what you do, you taunt people". The fact is, the First Amendment doesn't protect that kind of speech. Regarding the first amendment: Further, fighting words can be defined as: Bottom line is, if you say something that incites violince, you are equally responsible for the violence. Your speech was unprotected. Not to say the violent reponse is protected by the lay, because it's not, but your words that brought it on are illegal, too. And if you want to read up on it yourself, feel free to peruse the Cornell Law website. http://www.law.corne...First_amendment http://www.law.corne.../fighting_words And specifically the case which rules "fighting words" as not protected by the First Amendment: http://www.law.cornell.edu/supct/html/historics/USSC_CR_0315_0568_ZO.html

Nobody forgot to turn it on. It was on FSN+. Depending on where you live (assuming the Twin Cities), it was on Comcast channel 13. That is the standard def channel for FSN+ in Minneapolis. 694 is the HD channel, and 23 is the standard def channel for St Paul. All they did was rebroadcast the UNDSN production so it wasn't in HD, hence, it was on 13/23 instead of 694. Do we know for sure they're still going to be available on FTA? If they are I'll gladly spend a couple hundred bucks, one time fee, to watch all the home games.
-
Anybody else think it's really lame when the anthem singing pauses before "Brave" to let the crowd yell "Sioux"?
-
So it is on FSN+, but not the HD channel (Comcast 694). It's only showing on channel 13 or 23, which is the same Comcast channel that shows the random BSU, MSU or SCSU games.

If a player isn't signed by August after his senior year he automatically becomes a Free Agent. That's how Chris Porter signed with the Blues instead of the Blackhawks (wonder if he's regretting that move now).
-
And Knight scored again. 2-1 Sioux Also, just had a SCSU penalty so the Sioux are going on a powerplay.
-
Like them, I didn't realize that since the CC goalie was the first one to touch the puck after the gopher player touched it with his glove then it should be blown dead. If another CC skater would have touched it the play would have continued, but since it was the goalie, the play should be dead. So the goal was called off either because the refs think the goalie touched it, or because Ambroz (I think) was the first to touch it after Matson gloved it.

If there's any chant/cheer that needs to go away, it's the all-too-common "Hey Song" cheer. "Hey! You Suck!" is just pathetic. SCSU was doing it last night and I'm pretty much Mankato does it, among others I'm sure.
-
Really? I can't stand Jim Rich. I just really don't think he does a very good job.
-
He means the Sioux women are winning 3-0. Unless you think the Sioux should be winning by MORE than three goals.
-
Apparently the officials are: Brad Schultz Jeff Shepherd Czech Todd Tony Anderson That's what Comcast Extra (or whatever it's called) has on screen.
-
Uh oh....Jim Rich just called us the "Fighting Sioux".
-
Right now it's called the "Sioux Shop". I'm sure they'll just rename it as "UND Pro Shop"

I've never understood why all basketball players don't hit at least 90% from the free throw line. It's the only shot in the game where you know exactly where you'll be standing and and you know you won't be guarded. There's no excuse.
-
Trust me, not everybody is a fan of him being captain.
-
Eidsness in the 3rd? I missed the first few goals but from the sounds of the (absolutely awful) Gophers radio broadcast, Dell doesn't seem very sharp.
-
I'm pretty sure FSN brings their own cameras and equipment for this series. I seem to remember quite a few more cameras in the arena when the gophers were in town.
-
I seem to remember hearing that it costs nearly $1 million just to take the building the down. That's one of the reasons they haven't done it yet. They didn't have the money to throw around until they grouped it in with money raised for another project.

Does two years count has four semesters or just "spanned over two seasons"? If its the former and he's starting next January, does that mean he'll play the last half of 12-13, all of 13-14, and only the first half of 14-15? Doesn't that make things difficult knowing you have a player who only has half a year of eligibility?
-
Based on its location it appears we'd need to see a wrecking ball or stick of dynamite first.
-
Somebody did post some stats that showed the seasons where Mitch had his best stats were the years he played with his brother. Who knows what will happen by putting the two of them together again.

Thanks for letting us know that somebody who is 29 is considered an "old person".
