Unless the Hurled is going to attribute a direct quote to Paulsen, I wouldn't read too much into the story. Moreover, as I recall, the "hostile or abusive" designation was originally a premise of the suit and the state's authorization of it. Imagine some Hurled reporter writing a slanted story. I tend to agree with this. Larger universities have more of the attributes of a large business, than they do of an institution of higher ed. When you throw in federal and state dollars, payrolls, human resources, research grants, fundraising for capital improvements and scholarships, etc., I think UND could benefit from somebody with a solid background in business, as well as exposure the finer points of education administration. A Ph.D. in some discipline would be nice, but I think a solid MBA would probably be appropriate as well.

"Respect" has nothing to do with it. Hakstol and UND have a binding contract. They may, at their own mutual discretion, modify it, extend it or terminate it, and I really doubt any such discussion will be premised on "respect", so much as self-interest.

Maybe Haks will get Blais-type money when/if he ever delivers a Title. Just like Lucia, Eaves, Gwoz, etc. You know ... pay-for-performance ... Moreover, considering what I know about Rick and The Sicatoka, their information is usually quite accurate.

If you want to "debate" politics, try USCHO, or a host of other sites. You'll find plenty of "debates" there. As much as I occasionally enjoy a good fight here, I don't see a reason to add a politics or current event forum that has little/nothing to do with Sioux athletics or UND in general.

No, and I actually took part in some of those conversations around the FF in St. Louis, mostly the day after the BC loss. Let's be honest, getting to the FF is great, but winning it all is what Sioux fans want, and expect every season, regardless of the coach.
