  1. Which should mean nothing if our guys actually play to win.
  2. It would be nice to see one of Haks' teams actually run the table and dominate the WCHA from the preseason with Manitoba to the playoffs and FF. "Half-stepping" it until December/January in this league can only go for so long, and it's wearing mighty thin.
  3. If we're considering names for those who opposed the Sioux tribes, we could probably just as well look at the Ojibwe and Chippewa since they kicked the Sioux tribes out the forests and onto the plains.
  4. I'm not really surprised, and the inability to make REA our own is getting really old. Haks' teams seem to be loaded with talented underachievers who really don't play to their potential until January or later. Yeah, we've been to the FF every season he's coached, but in a league that's usually full of talent and hard work that "we'll catch 'em in the Spring" attitude can come back to bite you.

    Help!

I recall seeing them on a few different websites last season. You may want to try Fansedge.com or maybe fogdog.com. IIRC they were only in kids' sizes.
  6. The UND Biting Mosquitoes
  7. Considering their "stands" on the issue to this point, bringing those dullards into the situation is as about as useless as bringing the French into a war.
  8. The UND Fightin' Guidos
  9. But changing the UND name/logo will magically change all of the poverty, isolation, despair, health problems, etc., right Nikki? Come back when you have a viable solution to those issues.
  10. Because you're the person trotting out the racism card. Do you read what you post? Do you lack the strength of your convictions? Or do you find it's easier to throw around the racism label because you lack the intellect to develop your own position(s) and defend it/them accordingly? It's probably more convenient to for you to trot out your racism "argument" like a tired old coat if somebody suggests that NA programs should be reduced, eliminated, etc., than to actually discuss/defend the relative merits, benefits etc. of the programs themselves to UND, the tribes and society at large. Rather than refuting suggestions that the name/logo or any tribal support for them should not be tied to UND's NA programs, you drop epithets and then hide behind your purported "experiences" on some reservation(s). Well bully for you, give yourself a lollipop.
  11. So, cite these examples of "racism" or, better yet, refute the opinions you find objectionable with your own arguments. You will not win over anybody by accusing them of something which may be untrue, and for which there is really no defense. Accuse them of being pedophiles while you're at it. Moreover, I find it tiresome to see the "racism card" played, and overplayed, simply because people may advocate changes to programs, funding, etc. that may offend or upset you. It gets real old, real quick, because you fail to produce a contrary position and rely on something from Jackson-Sharpton School of Perpetual Victimization.
  12. It's easy, and intellectually dishonest, to accuse somebody of "racism" because you disagree with their opinions, is it not?
  13. Then feel free to stay out of it.
  14. I'm sure they'll give one good try for appearance's sake, and to check out the slots at the casino, and then trot out some timeline to retire the Sioux name/logo, form a committee to think of a "kinder, gentler" replacement and then pat themselves on the ass over how well they handled the transition.
  15. Oh my God! Wirtz has risen from the grave!
  16. Who?
  17. This only serves to validate my contention that it's really a waste of time to deal with these tribes, and the settlement was nothing more than a complete surrender. Retire the name on our own terms, forget the tribes, and move on. Let's quit deluding ourselves that these people will be reasonable at any time. F**k 'em
  18. I'm still trying to imagine Teeder Wynne as a "goon". Linky
  19. Reading the comments in the paper and USCHO, it seems Wisco fans are turning into real pu$$ies. They used to be so much more fun.
  20. Maybe it's because UND and Wisco have a history of fighting and rough games, or least they did in Sauer and Badger Bob's days. That's something that seems to have eluded the "commentators" who think Saturday's "fight" was like the Little Big Horn. No blood on the ice, no cops hauling players away and no Jim Archibald or Cary Eades trying to beat up the entire audience. That's no fight. That's a minor spat.
  21. Why is it that Eaves just seems like a chronic whiner? Nearly every freakin' game, he seems to complain about opposing fans, players, officials, whatever, etc., and it doesn't matter if he's lost the game or not. Maybe he needs to quit the aroma therapy during his pedicures, and get on the ice with his players. As for Bucky the Mascot, that's a damn big badger, so I think any hit was justified. Maybe next time, Joe can use a rifle.
  22. I don't really see it as an issue of "pressure" so much the teams have been losing major players year after year, and having to adjust the first half of the following season. We play in a pretty tough conference, but sometimes you really have to wonder if some of these guys don't start playing until the New Year.
  23. They might be offended ...
  24. This thread is just so ... bad.
