    Get Well Roger!

    Take care, Roger.
  2. I don't see any settlement unless UND keeps its name/logo, otherwise why bother spending all of that money that could have gone to scholarships, faculty, etc.? I think UND has the stronger position, notwithstanding the shaky anti-trust claim. Moreover, I think the NC$$ has some serious dirty laundry in its governance structure that they (Myles & Co.) do not want made known to the public, Congress or its own membership. As well, given the inherent uncertainty of litigation, and the press a trial might generate, I think the NC$$ has some serious incentives to settle and be able to say "We'll we tried to get rid of that name for you, but if they won every school in the world would sue us and change their name to 'Savages', 'Warriors', 'Redskins' or 'Micks'. Anyway, I would expect a pretty narrow settlement that may require UND to mandate sensitivity training for the frosh and athletes, greater $$$ outreach to NA communities, etc. Maybe "Fighting" goes away too. Meanwhile, the NC$$ takes UND off the "hostile or abusive" list, and quits trying to impede its competitive efforts with regard to scheduling, etc.
  3. I wouldn't worry too much. If Sutter starts screwing the pooch, he'll quickly go the way of a number of other former Devs coaches.
  4. Trips to NYC for business. Possible trip to London for business. Trip to Nashville for fun. Trips to Louisville for alot of fun. Puttering around the yard, and doing as little as possible, except drinking beer when the temps hit the 90s and the heat indexes will go to 100 or so. Hopefully, my house painter resurfaces, so the house gets some badly needed work done before I have to rebid the job. NDFAN, take care and God bless.
  5. The Ramones.
  6. Cue the op-ed pieces hypothesizing that the money would have gone to Indian programs, scholarships, etc. in 3 ... 2 ....
  7. And your fine 'su education is rearing its fugly little head. Quite frankly, I'm glad you don't live in Fargo, not that I really care where you schlep around. You only lower the average IQ, pollute the local gene pool and increase the local demand for lutefisk and Schlitz wherever you live.
  8. Precisely. Redneck Games And anybody from Fargo calling somebody from GF a "redneck" just because they live there really needs to get a reality check.
  9. No, it's rightfully called "The Fraud". I read the paper in its various incarnations for much of Marcil's tenure, and its reporting and editorial content are more like the NY Post or National Enquirer. As for the Hurled, it's probably not much better since KR sold it to Fraud Communications. Now, feel free to wash the sand out of your undies. Edit: And Danielle, I think the last person who should giving any advice on reading comprehension is the valedictorian of su's "short bus" program.
  10. Oh, boo hoo. Quit whining, Danielle. You're probably one of those assclowns who ranted against "Fargo" when it came out too. "We don't talk like that." "It's not that bleak and dreary in winter." Considering I used to live in Fargo, and graduated from South, I am more than qualified to comment on Fargo's inferiority complex which seeped into the community college on the northside long ago. But, keep trying, your comments amuse me.
  11. Perhaps the Fraud should have shown some class and dignity as GF did with Dave Barry, or at least come back from the ledge. The Fraud's editorial, again, demonstrates the inferiority complex that seems to pervade the state's "largest city". It reminds me of how the leaders of Minneapolis get their collective panties in a bunch whenever a business or political leader makes negative comments about the city. Then again, I suppose since Fargo is really a distant 'burb of St. Cloud, it only makes sense to "wet the bed".
  12. Or doesn't see it ...
  13. I'm kind of ambivalent about Lee leaving. I don't think he ever played like a first round pick during his time at UND, and I'm not sure where he fits into the Sens' "bigger and tougher" mantra after they lost the Cup, perhaps he'll be trade bait. Maybe he'll develop over time, or maybe he'll end up playing in Britain in a few years. Either way, good luck, and thanks Brian.
  14. It's a good place to find a good mechanic too.
  15. The only "ruckus" on SCCC's campus usually came from the frat houses and other places students partied and got busted. All's well in White Cloud.
  16. Not to mention the litany of investigations and litigation regarding SCCC's systemic racism and anti-Semitism during Saigo's tenure, and the tax dollars that were doled out in the process. Nikki and Saigo deserve each other. F*** Saigo. Linky

    Seat Belts ?

Considering the costs associated with long-term care, if somebody wants to drive/ride w/o a seat belt they should pay a nominal fee (a "moron tax" as a doctor friend of mine calls it) and sign a waiver that they won't seek public assistance for their medical expenses and long-term care if they survive. Me? I'm always belted in, since it keeps me upright and in control of the car if I have to swerve or take evasive action.
  18. NY Times Get out your check books, kids. Probably a good idea, which is why it eludes the NC$$.
  19. This guy's obviously attended Doreen Yellowbird's course on "Logic and Writing".
  20. Well, they should definitely get a few d-men who aren't afraid to go into the corners or protect their blue line, so I doubt Lee would help there. Pretty sad state of affairs for the NHL if these two teams are "the best".
  21. As a practical matter, "Team North Dakota" and the rest of the honchos screwed up. They failed to explore the uses for the base in the event it was closed down. Given its proximity to Canada, a major N/S interstate, rail roads, a E/W US highway, its path under global air routes, the already built up infrastructure, etc., GFAFB would have been a great hub for international transit and commerce. Relying on the oft-fickle DoD for your economic well being is patently stupid IMHO. Perhaps some creative thinking, and appreciation for risk/reward, could have made this facility an economic driver, rather than an albatross.

    Inline Skating

Just an update. I bought a pair of K2 Exos, the proverbial "soft boot". I bought them from Fogdog and they fit nearly perfectly. Very good skates for me, and probably fine for embarrassing myself on neighborhood sidewalks and the parking lot of the local school. Thanks again.
  23. For those of us latched to cable, I really enjoyed the service when I used it. Nearly flawless execution ... unlike Dataflix. If the service maintains at least that level of quality, I'll pay for it. It'll also give me an extra justification for the iMac I just bought, and my plans to hook it up to the TV.
