  1. Does he still wear that gay-ass pony tail? He's about 70 by now, I would guess ...
  2. Oh God, I love it when the Fargo Fraud strives to be relevant, instead of lining for a bird cage. Of course, anytime UND is involved their hacks, like Ms. Dalrymple again, man the ramparts and shake their little fists to the north. Perhaps the good UND fans in/around Fargo should cancel their subscriptions, and donate that money to the new litigation fund.
  3. One more reason why corporations and other entities organize in Delaware and Nevada. Org documents can kept from the prying eyes of idiot "reporters". That said, moving it to the foundation still allows contributions to be made w/o directly involving the school. I would still prefer a completely separate fund, organized outside of NoDak to pay the outside attorneys.
  4. If there is a settlement it probably will include keeping the name/logo, that's a given, and the NC$$ removing the "hostile and abusive" brand, while UND continues to maintain its AI programs and outreach to the local tribes. As well, there would probably be some sort of "voluntary" sensitivity class requirement for UND students or athletes. And the NC$$ would agree to not interfere with the name or encourage member schools to impede UND's use of it in scheduling, etc.: See Iowa's newest policy.
  5. I tend to agree. In a way, the loss to Minnesota was hopefully a nice kick in the pants for the team. If they keep their heads in the game and they play hard for a full 60 minutes, I like our chances of getting to St. Louis. Hell, I'll be there regardless, but it would be great if the team could make it too.
  6. If SCCC manages to actually get to the FF, I'm sure there will a run on Prestone at FleetFarm ... God only knows what would happen if they came back with the Title. Oh wait, they'd probably riot and kill Motzko in the process.
  7. Precisely. Minnie's game plan, and it was telegraphed in the media, was to shut down DOT and go from there. Unfortunately, the rest of the Sioux lines didn't step into the gap like they have recently. If Michigan follows the same game plan, and the boys don't respond, it's going to be short trip to Denver and they can shine their clubs up, and plan Toews and Oshie's alcohol-free going away party. As for the whining about Minnesota "fans", I've seen the same stupid conduct by Sioux fans too. Including this one at some points in his undergrad career. Get over it.
  8. Agreed. As much as it sucks to lose in OT to your main rival, Minnesota sure as hell doesn't have a monopoly on idiotic fans. Congrats to Minnesota, and maybe we'll meet again this spring.
  9. Yes! Great game, and keep it up boys!!! Thanks again for the updates, folks.
  10. "Sorry, boss, looks like I caught Bubonic Plague again ... I'll try to be in Monday, if I don't die again. Thanks."
  11. A good team fights through "bad" officiating.
  12. Woohoo! I wonder if they'll pull Goatfart ...
  13. And then light up his replacement for a few more.
  14. Those of us stuck behind firewalls that prevent streaming media thank you for the updates. Go Sioux, destroy the mutts!
  15. Minnesota and Wisconsin. Rivalries and downturns aside, you really cannot forget their histories, tradition and ability to attract top players and coaches.
  16. Considering they show spelling bees, and eating contests, on ESPN I can only hope their "Solitaire World Series" takes off. Actually, they're trying to do to backgammon what they've done to poker on TV. Talk about some shrewd thinking ...
  17. What does Sid say? Oh wait, somebody needs to remind him that hockey even exists, again ... And as an aside, "State of Hockey" was used to describe Minnesota before The Wild, whatever that is, came into being. It was/is also used by various wags in the state of Michigan.
  18. I think it's a natural extension, no pun intended, of the "confusion" these people face: Whether it's better to pee standing up or sitting down.
  19. That's why God invented color printers ...
  20. I think it really depends on the documents. I doubt the state is trying to get these things published in the Hurled or posted on a website before trial. Some docs can be covered by a protective order, such as trade secrets, and used in litigation within certain limits. I doubt they can be entered into the record/transcript, but may be part of the evidence submitted to the jury. Jahnke may split difference and allow some docs to be used in open court w/o restriction, seal some and exclude some. Given the trolling expeditions discovery can start, the state may have to justify its requests more precisely.
  21. Is this his first case that didn't involve an auto accident or a dog bite? I don't know what it's like in his world, but in mine we can be forced to generate truckloads of discovery, much of which is considered "confidential" by the parties, but not by the courts. This includes meeting minutes, internal memos, email, phone logs, voice mails, agreements, etc. And there are firms that specialize in ferreting out "lost" or "destroyed" electronic and voice data, so that excuse won't fly either. If you're found to have wrongly fully destroyed evidence or items that could be considered evidence, prepare to lose and write a big check. About the only things that can't be discovered are things they don't ask for and most attorney-client communications and work product.
  22. I'm just glad he didn't blame the refs or the ice ... it makes more sense to blame "the system" for one's lack of production.
  23. I would venture that rather than worrying about settling, or losing a "binding precedent" that will probably only extend to the Red River, the NC$$ is probably more worried about unwanted media attention and Congressional oversight, especially with regard to its tax exempt status and deviations from its charter in any manner of ways. That said, I'd *guess* there's more going on behind the scenes than the AG and NC$$ are letting on.
  24. Exactly. Too many teams *cough*Minnesota*cough* cough*St. Cloud*cough seem be wrapped up in where they are and what games "matter" or not. I hope our guys keep playing each game like it really matters, and it could be their last this season because at some time they'll be right.
