  1. Oh come on. It's just the Olympics, and women's hockey at that. Both surely pale in comparison to the Blundering Herd.
  2. Who said anything about 'jumping ship"? Your panties are a bit tight tonight.
  3. Who the hell kidnapped our hockey team, and replaced them with these guys?!?
  4. I'd guess the usual round of focus groups, committees and marketing research consultants to come up with some benign, boring and "non-offensive" brand. But I'll stay with UND Fighting Sioux, regardless what happens.
  5. Start here. It's older, but still relevant. Interpol As a practical matter, buying knockoffs is a form of theft. You, and others may see it as victimless, or even justified, but it's theft regardless. Moreover, how can you purport to support a given player, team, etc. when you deprive them of the monies due them from their own licensing arrangements whether with the NHL, NC$$ or any other organization?
  6. Add to that, the fact that counterfeit merchandise in general is illegal, and has been linked to some terrorist funding, and I think most people with any integrity would stay away from the knockoffs, but whatever ...
  7. I recall the 'Hawks site had green Toews jerseys last year. I believe they were only Reebok practice jerseys, rather than game gear. I also remember the green St. Pat's Toews t-shirt that looked pretty good with the Blackhawk logo in green. If you're going to buy a green 'Hawks jersey or shirt, I'd stay away from any unofficial sites or sellers as recommended.
  8. Don't cry little guy. The internet can be a pretty tough neighborhood. I take it you do a lot of pro bono work.
  9. "Back in the day" I clerked for a judge, and we heard alot of DUI cases. They're not the "slam dunk" cases some would have you believe, especially if you go in front of a jury. A good lawyer can make a cop, expert witnesses, etc. look pretty damn silly, and unreliable even if the defendant was knee-walking drunk. Bruce Quick, out of Fargo, was very good in this regard.
  10. If that diatribe is an example of her "prowess" as an attorney, her clients are screwed.
  11. You sound surprised ...
  12. I'll say. Good grief, it message board chatter really could fire up a team, we'd probably have 12 Titles by now.
  13. "Typical Bison Fan"? So, Mr. Haugen has crossed-eyes, Copenhagen dripping out from his mouth, an overabundance of ear wax and smells of manure?
  14. Have to agree. This team has shown a remarkable lack of killer instinct when they get a lead. Maybe it's because they're young, etc., but there's nothing wrong with playing a full-60 minute game and trying to bury your opponent.
  15. Too bad about Hextall, but I hope he's ready when it really starts to count. And congrats to Danny on a great tourney. I was proud to watch him help win the gold.
  16. 10 whole minutes? Any self-respecting college student should be able to down half a case in 10 minutes. Sheesh. "Kids these days."

"Time to Face the Base!" as one of my buddies would sing, since it seemed to attract alot of Air Force people. The epitome of a "meat market". I forgot about the Barleycorn. Wednesday Teas ... /Good times, indeed.

I can't recall Judy's being a big college hangout during my daze on campus. We'd usually be found at the Down Under, Sensations, Frenchy's, Whitey's, the Antique, the Spud, Stooges, Grigg's, Bonzer's and same weird bar on DeMers (whose name escapes me) where you could get your ass grabbed by some barfly, and into a fight in the same night.
  19. How about the Big 10+2?
  20. $$$. Most Big 10 schools have larger football programs which fund money losers, like women's bouncyball, etc. I believe IU has the smallest stadium in the conference, and their FB team is usually worse than Minnesota. Besides, unless someone drops a shiat-load of money on them for a specific purpose, they'd never make it past the Title IX hurdles, let alone the infrastructure for a competitive D1 hockey program.
  21. As long as the current crop of coaches and administrators in the WCHA accepts the "status quo", you won't see any major changes in the current regime. Unfortunately, it may take a Travis Roy-type event to open their eyes.
  22. Indiana adding D1 hockey? Color me "skeptical" too. They can't even fill their football stadium, except with opposing fans, and their bouncyball program is still on the ropes. Moreover, Indiana is not really "hockey country" so I don't see IU as the BTHC's great white hope.
  23. You mean the same SL tribe that the Board was supposed to be negotiating with as part of the NC$$ surrender?
  24. *cough* Separation of Powers *cough* *cough* coequal branches of government *cough* "non-governmental entity"? Are you high? I hate to break your rose colored glasses, but courts routinely put the brakes on other governmental agencies who exceed their authority, or otherwise break the law.
  25. I thought it was amusing, and about par for the PC course, that a Navajo told the Sioux they were being "used".
