Old Time Hockey

He has done a fine job this season with what we have. I feel he does a lot better job with teams of lesser talent than ones that are loaded. I am not totally on or off the fire bandwagon, as he needs to better his 1-5 record in the frozen four. His 14-4 record in the regional is nothing short of spectacular, but the frozen four record really tarnishes those accomplishments. He just really needs to hang a banner and the fire Hak stuff will be gone. Unfortunately for him the longer it takes the harder it has become! Maybe this year is the year as the team is playing with house money and seems to be playing much more loose. Win or lose the rest of the way, I tip my cap to Dave, his staff, and his squad!

I guess this is how we measure success now.

Wish you would have worn it against Michigan a few years back! Would have been nice if you would have worn it against BC one of the three losses in the frozen four as well. Does it have any wins vs a TUC or just bottom- dwelling teams? :-)

I don't think they lack motivation, they lack talent. Rocco is playing on a line with a freshman, who is very promising, and a guy that should be a third or fourth line role player. The Parks, Mac, Drake line is a quality #2 line, that's it. Overall, the team is lacking 2-3 skilled forwards that can finish with the puck. Hak had kids decommit (ex JT Miller) and we even had one leave in the middle of the season that might have produced down the stretch. What we are left with is a below average Sioux hockey team. Maybe this is the year we don't get to the tourney. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger! Lets face it, this team doesn't have the horses in the barn to make a big push through the NCAA tournament anyways. Sometimes reality isn't fun to accept. We as Sioux fans might be getting a big dose of that tonight or next weekend when our season ends.

Oh Yeah............ I heard something on a radio program and I am the expert. He was interested in upstream retention as an alternative to the massive staging area that will be a large (and obviously the most controversial) component of the entire project.

Obviously you have no idea of what is going on here! I am not a huge Carlson fan, however your post couldn't be more inaccurate! I am deeply involved in this project and know what happened when Al and the rest of the legislature got involved. His point was that he wanted to ensure that federal funding was going to be available for the federal share of the project. I supported Al on his stand as it served as a check and balance. His actions showed the Diversion Authority (project sponsor) that they need to do everything in their power to ensure federal funding for the project. Also Al, along with many of his fellow representatives, were contacted by many constituents about the nickname issue to try and save the nickname. We all know how it ended but was it really that different than the pushback we saw from the people of Spirit Lake? I sent them emails to save the nickname and I applauded their efforts. The rest of the Monday morning QBs said it wasted time and money, but our representatives received more feedback on this issue than any other in their time in office.

I think he is in hiding! I have never been a fan of Faison, but a move in regards to the head football coach before the end of the season might start to change my opinion. We need strong leadership at this dark time for the football program. Obviously we are not getting it from the coaching staff so it is time for the next level of leadership to step up to the plate and turn things around. The longer this stink lingers the longer it will take to turn things around!
