  1. I agree. I would love to see Olson, but I think Simonson gives us a better chance matching up against the skilled Miami top-6.
  2. It's a shame this is happening in the squirt level. These for the most part are 9-10 year olds that just wanna be out there having fun with there buddies. Parents ruin it mostly by wanting to win more than the kids. Hockey at this level should still be more about developing skills and having fun, not winning and losing. On the other hand, if player safety is the issue, officiating needs to be addressed. This level is still suppose to be about developing skating and stick-handling, not about separating a player from the puck with a solid body check. If the real reason Eastview left was due to concerns for player safety I support their decision. If it was due to the fact Minot was rolling them 6-1 and used player safety as an excuse, I am disgusted by their decision. What I love about youth hockey is that you are not just teaching kids about a game they love, you are teaching them lessons in life. Unfortunately this gets lost along the way in today's society.
  3. Was he put on double top secret probation from this site for two weeks? #freegfhockey
  4. Oh No! We are now a ship without a rudder. Wonder what could happened? #freegfhockey
  5. Unfortunately you made it sound that if you were not one of the anointed few, your input doesn't hold much credibility. There are a lot of people on this board that have ties (albeit varying levels) to certain programs that get inside information from time to time. Just because they don't share everything all the time, doesn't mean they know less what goes behind the scenes than some of the folks on this board.
  6. That's what I thought. Best case scenario is a 6-8 week recovery and that is usually when surgery is not required, which it was. When I heard he was having surgery, I figured his season was over. This sucks for Mac! Hopefully the team will rally around him and we can see him on the ice one final time hoist the national championship trophy.
  7. ....and the Men's BB team would have restored their dominance and made the sweet 16.
  8. Heard he likes big cocks......
  9. From Goons World...... http://ndgoon.blogspot.com/2015/03/its-time-to-move-on-from-fighting-sioux.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+blogspot/ZTZqA+(Goon's+World)&m=1 I am in total agreement. Pure and simple, University of North Dakota works for many of us!
  10. Using that Task Force’s recommendations as a starting point, the new Nickname Committee will be charged with reviewing a list of potential names, submitted via a public process soon to be announced, and developing and submitting a short list of those names for a final public vote. The University anticipates that the Nickname Committee will submit the short list of names for the vote by early May. Wonder when the list of names will come out? It would be nice to know the names before the committee chops them down! I am guessing no name had a lot of support but will get chopped. What are the odds cocks are on the list? Probably the same odds as Sioux being on the list?
  11. We will save that for April 9th! ;-)
  12. That's what pisses me off! Schools like this with NA nicknames put fuel on the fire for anti-nickname PC zealots. I remember when I was younger having NA's from the state coming out before a handful of games and performed. To me it was done in a respectful manner and I personally felt a sense of pride being from a university that honored the local Native American tribes. This ended however. I don't know if there was a fall out with the university and the local tribes, or if it was the start of the undermining of the nickname by those folks such as Jeannotte and company. Regardless, I do not recall the time when UND ever acted like the Illini, FSU, etc.
  13. So you're saying there's a chance...
  14. So to honor the first European settlers in this area with the nickname Fur Traders wouldn't fly either? I give up, let's go without a nickname. :-)
  15. I think he is contemplating his next protest.....changing North Dakota so Chippewa is definitely out of the question!
  16. For what it's worth, I skated at Scheels arena 2 days before the tournament and it was the slowest ice I had been on in a long time!
  17. Actually the Kelly's could have been an interesting idea, named after Kelly green. But even indirectly our current president screwed that up. Seems like he can't get out of the way of his own shadow!
  18. I know, but it is so good and being that we are so far away...... I am sure there has to be some demographic out there that is remotely offended. Just can't put my finger on it?
  19. By the way, I almost pee'd myself with laughter with your reply! My favorite post of the day, thanks!
  20. Got me! Honest oversite on my end. How bout Rainbow Warriors?
  21. Your a piece of work!
  22. How bout fairy unicorns?
  23. Don't you have somewhere else to be? Like desecrating some beloved donors grave?
  24. I remember the first time I heard it in the mid-80's and it was simply "Who's he, he sucks!". It wasn't til several years later that the manure reference was added to the end of the statement. I wish it was like that still today.
  25. Maybe they are pissed at how he has handled the nickname issue in general. Or maybe they can't stand his liberal, "I know what's best for you" mentality.
