Walski is a practice goalie. The hope for every coaching staff, is that their practice goalies never HAS to play. Hopefully they get a chance to throw a game his way during an exhibition game somewhere. That becomes very difficult to do however, when your number 2 comes into the season with zero experience. Walski is well aware of his standing on the team, and was told exactly how he is going to be treated by the coahing staff.

Ma & Pa Kessel have been the main reason the Phil took all of heat that he has. Do you honestly think that the whole press conference thing was Phil's idea ?? Did it look like he wanted to be there ?? I think this is a case of parents trying to make the big score, or trying to live out their dreams through their son.......which could very well explain why he is a little, should we say, "socially challenged" ?? He IS a great hockey talent......but unless he gets the 2 morons who raised him out of his business, he could be in for a rocky ride the next couple of years too..........

Anyone who really knows and follows hockey at this level, knows that Kristo has the potential to be special player. He will be a real plus to the Sioux program. The people on GPL (or else where) who are downplaying the talent level of this kid are just doing so out of jealousy or ignorance...........and yes the Goph's really wanted this kid. It's what happens when people are Gopher/Sioux fans first, and hockey fans second.

Of course the #3 pick in the draft would have been offered the rookie max..........the Hawks would not guarantee that he would spend the entire season in the NHL. You do NOT make the same money playing in AHL as you do in the NHL. The Hawks knew he would not sign a contract if there was a possability of him playing in the AHL, so none was offered............at least Chicago was up front with him.

Going in with a goalie who has very little experience, losing all of the scoring that they have, along the hits on the blueline...........OUCH !! They are going to need some ffrashmen to step up BIG time.........and some others to step up.......could be a tough start (at least) to the season.

Now your putting words in my mouth. Not once did I say the Final Five was not important. There is a huge difference between saying the third place game is meaningless and saying the Final Five is meaningless. Pretty funny how you take, "3rd place games are meaningless" to mean the same thing as saying the Broadmoor doesn't mean anything. Nice try, you were really reaching with that one. I have a lot of respect for the Final Five and it's importance, but once you lose your semi-final game, finishing in either 3rd or 4th doesn't make much difference, in my opinion. If Sioux fans want to brag and get all giddy over finishing in 3rd at the 2005 Final Five, then have at it. 3rd place finishes in a five team tourney doesn't excite many Gopher fans.
