The McNaughton Cup gets you exactly nowhere. The only teams that get into the F5 are the teams that win 2 games this week-end. The team that wins the F5 (and other league championships) get an "autobid" into the NCAA tourny. In the history of the F5, this has not mattered, as every team that has won the F5, was already in the NCAA tourny by virtue of their standing in the Pairwise. That will hold true this year as well, unless CC, or one of the teams in the bottom 5 spots of the WCHA wins the F5.

I don't think it's very likely that UND will sent sent to Denver. I would be a stretch for UND to become a 1 seed, and also a strech for Denver to fall to a 4 seed. So UND stays a 2 and Denver a 3, they can not be in same region, since the NCAA will not pair conference opponents against each other in the first round. In this scenerio, UND would likely be sent east.

As long as the 2 teams are there, and the officials are there (on ice and off ice), the game will played. There is no consideration given as to people attending the game.

Agreed.......If that was how things shook out, Michigan would get moved into that bracket, and UND shipped out east.

What's the venue got to do with it ?

Gophers were the #1 seed last year, and the #3 seed the previous year, and yet both were night games. I think this policy is still in place.
