yea they said the emails were going out today, why do i feel people not getting the email will become a string of a long list of problems with this new, but promising method
-
Has anyone got the email yet?

What do you mean, all 4 all going to sign!! With all the speculation out there, were on pace to not even have a team next season. IMO, not going to happen.

Celebration, Guns N' Roses, and otherwise 80% crappy music, but hey we don't go there for music, thats what concerts are for.

Which is sad because when we elect officials its so that they can carry there constiuents (sp?) ideas to Congress, and vote as there constiuents would, not how they feel on an issue. I'm not saying that the ND delegation are the only ones guilty of this, but someone needs to remind all of Congress of this fact.

I just hope that people aren't trying to get a new name to see how comfortable life would be with a new name. i.e Sioux

Alaska has warmer winters than ND, from what I've heard. And tech has a carnival, in the winter!!!

Here is my opinion on the issue. It seems, or maybe I don't have enough info that the NCAA would prefer us to change our name to something non Native American, but after looking over the appeals that have won, a couple things stand out. 1. All are of a specific tribe (Seminoles, Utes, Chippewas) (We are that, along with UIUC, IUP is not (Indians)) 2. All have had support from a tribe(We have that, UIUC cannot, IUP cannot) 3. All approved names do not include the term fighting (Us along with UIUC have that term) As for IUP, their name is the Indians, a term today that is considered Politically Incorrect. I believe that before a lawsuit is brought up, let's drop the term "fighting" and see what the NCAA says. I'm starting to believe that the word fighting is the real problem. The NCAA would prefer no Native American names, but would settle for the above.

Stafford invited to USA Men's National Team
mikeypat15 replied to siouxperstar's topic in Men's Hockey
Hmm.............Drew is going to miss his finals, I don't take that as a good sign. -
I would have to agree a lil bit on Porter, It seems to me that he has undeveloped (if thats a word) in the past year. He is skating real hard, but isnt putting up numbers that a person who is an NHL prospect should be putting up, 7-16-23, this year and 12-3-15 the season before. Yes his numbers went up but IMO in the wrong direction in terms of goals and assists. He just didn't seem as active as he could be, more of a player who threw his body around than being a goal scorer which he could be. I still think that this past years team (along with many others, Wisconsin) developed a great bond and the pros should look into trying to keep certain players together. Can you even imagine if a trade was made that would put Bochenski on the same like as ZPar, Zajac and Oshie, etc. I think in the future owners and GMs need to look at trying to keep players together, young fast hockey is the future for the NHL.

Here's my question, St. Louis has Oshie, but were Oshie and Toews linemates in any games this year, would they put a good look at bringing Oshie and Toews into the program together. Or, with the Blackhawks, I know Porter and Toews were linemates, would they be looking to do the same thing here. The Blackhawks have been doing this with the Badgers it seems. There is another Shattuck's connection there. And also Bochenski is playing for the Hawks. Just something to ponder. Personally I might be favoring the Bhawks more cause I'm a diehard fan of hostile and abusive logos. LOL

Wait so Stafford is close to signing a record deal for Red Seal Peach, keep me up to date on the possible tour. I ca't wait to see the sold out REA go crazy for them.

Short and simple. Thanks Mike for everything, goodluck in all your endeavours. KEEP IN TOUCH, AND COME BACK OFTEN. There are many here that would be more than happy to buy you a drink, or all of them.

Am I wrong to cheer for anyone in the WCHA minus the Goophers and Pee-on-ers. I've never had a problem with Wisconsin but in the Frozen Four when we lost, I wanted the WCHA to continue winning National Championships. I will always root on the Sioux, but if its a WCHA team other than the above two teams I named, I'm rooting them on.

This article seems to be optimistic, JPar will be back next year, it sounds like Zajac too. http://www.grandforks.com/mld/grandforks/sports/14283918.htm

Would any of you donate a kidney for Prpich, or any other player? I would, what about you? This could be a good new thread.

I have a friend in the band, and yes they are going

I doubt Belfour, he just had back surgery so he's probably recovering or with the team, who has games both Thursday and Saturday. As for others, Brandon Bochenski now lives in Chicago (45 minute drive) and has Thursday off, but not Saturday. Also, Troy Murray works for the BHawks and has the same schedule (other than practices) as Bochenski. Matt Greene will be in the Chicago area on Saturday, he plays in Minnesota on Thursday and Chicago on Friday, then St. Louis on Sunday, if the team allows him to leave on Saturday (if we win) he might make the trip up Saturday night for the game. If he wants obviously, and the team allows him to, but why wouldn't either want to!!! It's the Sioux!!

With as far as the team as gotten this year we all know that there will most likely be an appreciation thingy at the Ralph after they return like last year. I was wondering if anyone knows a memorabilia store or a sports store in town that sells professional pictures of the players so I can buy some and get them signed. It would be nice to get a Prp photo signed, and even a couple of our freshmen, who knows what they'll do up in the big leagues. Can anyone answer my question? Thanks

I would guess WDAZ would maybe pick up the feed from ESPN2 for those who don't have cable, but they wouldn't send there whole production crew. After all WDAZ and ESPN2 are both ABC affiliates. Anyone agree?
