  1. I have 4 tickets for sale for the Frozen Face off in Minneapolis for Friday & Saturday. Section 118 row R seats 1 - 4. Selling for cost $120 each. These are priority tickets.
  2. I am aware that ESPN does use the nicknames all the time, but is that the reason for us getting a nickname, so the announcers have something to call us. As I was watching the Frozen Four & they congratulated Providence they called them the Terriers. I know that it wasn't ESPN, but still it was wrong. Also in making my point, other than the announcers, who uses the nicknames. Do you say that the Pioneers are coming to play hockey this weekend or do you say Denver. I don't hear very many people using the nickname of Northern Arizona when they come to play football or basketball here. I guess one of my points was people know us as North Dakota just as we know our teams by their names, not nicknames.
  3. Does the University of North Dakota really need a nickname? Do you really know the nicknames of other schools & does it really matter if they have a nickname. Most people don't know the nicknames anyhow. Ask your friends & family if they know the nicknames of the schools that we play in sports, especially hockey. I have been doing this & I am not surprised that people don't know the nicknames of the schools. Without looking on the internet & not commenting, can you name the ...nicknames of the schools.... Denver Colorado College Omaha Providence - they just won the frozen four & still didn't know Ohio State Penn State St Cloud Duluth Miami of Ohio RIT Boston University Boston College Michigan State Michigan Mankato State Michigan Tech But if you ask they will know that it is Minnesota Gophers, Wisconsin Badgers & of course North Dakota Fighting Sioux. Share this with others not from UND & you might be surprised at the results. Of course I might be surprised at the people who do know them. But my point is when we play these teams you don't ever hear anyone say we are playing the Bulldogs, no we are playing Duluth. So what is the real reason for a nickname? I would like someone to explain that to me.
  4. I agree that there are a lot of fans in the metro area, but they usually don't get hotel rooms. I looked on-line for rooms for this weekend around the X & the Holiday Inn still has rooms available for $169 a night, along with the Crown Plaza. I have been going to the Final 5 for the last 9 years & I have never heard of any rooms available the week of the tournament. I am willing to be that you can't get a room around the Target Center this weekend. Just saying. On a side note, my gopher friend contacted me this week to see if we will be going to the games. I told him yes. He said that they would be at the Target Center as well because they weren't going to support the Big 10. His group are gopher & badger fans. It will be interesting to see how many fans are at the X this weekend.
  5. I am looking for 2 tickets together for Saturday night's game against St Cloud. Preferrably lower bowl.
  6. I have 2 tickets in the lower bowl for the Sioux/Gopher game on Saturday night January 14th. Section 112 Row E seat 9 & 10. Great seats!!! Call me at 218-779-3946 & we can work out some prices.
  7. Still fishing a bit...but losing interest in folks asking $150 or $125 a ticket. I have heard Sioux fans selling to scalpers after Thursday for $25. Ugh...

  8. I have four tickets if you still want tickets.
  9. 4 of us in section 212!!! GO SIOUX!!!
  10. We also sat by some Minnesota & Wisconsin fans & they are not happy about leaving the WCHA. They think that the B10 is a joke. I told them that they will just have to start following the Sioux & they said at least they could watch some good hockey then. On the other hand, I wouldn't mind still seeing the Final Five stay in Mpls. It is a good weekend away & it is ALOT of fun to go there. A mini vacation for us.
  11. We stay at the Kelly Inn & the rooms aren't any cheaper. I think this year we got quoted prices of $159 a night. It takes us about 10 - 15 minutes to walk to the game, not really that far. Just a little jaunt on the way back as you have to walk up hill. They do have shuttles from the Kelly Inn though.
  12. We are flying in tomorrow night. Going to pre-game on Saturday morning. Looking forward to a fun a weekend. GO SIOUX!!!
  13. Looking for 2 tickets for the gopher series - any where is fine - just found out that the kids are coming from the cities & want to see the series - yes they are Sioux fans - anything would be appreciated!!! Would be willing to trade some tickets for the Mankato series in February. I know that isn't a game that a lot of people want tickets for, but we will be gone that weekend. Our seats are the in the lower bowl & pretty good ones. Thanks
  14. I am looking for 2 tickets (preferably lower bowl) for Saturday night Novmber 15th for the Alaska series. Grandson's first hockey game!!! Thank You
