I think the people at the ralph over this upcoming break need to take trips around the country to other stadiums and see how it is done, intros, songs, commercial breaks, etc. I can't get over how good the atmosphere is even at a blackhawks game when there is say 6,000 there it seems. They have a way of keeping the crowd engaged with different ideas. Plus I can't stand a buildup to a starting lineup that is abruptly halted because we have to say whos sponsering it, and how its brought to us by Rydell.

Does anyone know specifically why Radke was scratched, it was healthy I know but opens up a whole closet of reasons, that could be other than not working hard, which to me doesn't seem like Radke. Some reasons a friend and I pondered: 1. Family emergency, we didn't see him in the press box, but we also did not see any other players up there 2. Missed practice, usually this results in not dressing, and usually is for a good good reason, obviously players are not skipping practice 3. Test, I've heard the players have morning classes, but this is finals time and maybe one caused him to miss a practice. Specifically if he was making a test up from a previous road trip.

I love Hak and agree with your point, but to me I'm just reminded by his comments after Maine about seeing it coming in practice, and other comments I've heard about us being a poor practicing team. In my opinion from when I played back in high school was that if we practiced poorly, even if we thought the opposite, it was not a fun rest of the day, whether it be dry land or boards. I believe we were the better team for both games this weekend. And as Hak said, one period cost us a game on Friday, well that one period has the been the same period costing us all season, and that needs to get taken care of, and that should start at the coach.

This whole season I have been saying that this next game is our breakout game, Oshie and Toews are going to break out, are defense is going to shut down the rush. I actually predicted a 5-1 win last night, and after the first 2 minutes, it was a good prediction. The team played well this past weekend, but well is not good enough. We need to go back to the basics. People have studied Oshie and Toews and as many have seen, they just cant bring that puck across like they do, or make those moves for that fancy goal. Last year we were a team that scored fancy goals, and this year that isn't going to happen. They have learned to shut that down. I hate to say it, but maybe this is the year we score more dirty goals, and pick up the trash, and the gophers score all the fancy goals. The players need to take a more Chay Genoway approach, has anyone noticed that that kid will shoot almost anytime he gets the chance. I noticed it last night when Wisconsin attempted to clear and he stopped it and just shot and created an oppurtunity. He has 11 points, some just beauties (Friday's, did anyones hair raise when they saw that twine ripple). Let's just put the puck on net and hope to pick up the trash, like the Mighty Ducks. This is a little contradictory to the amount of shots we had this weekend which was impressive. But Ryan did it a few weeks ago, just put the puck on net and scored, Miller did it last night. I just don't think this pretty stuff is going to work. Lastly, and then I get off my venting soap box. Has anyone noticed a change in the defense's appraoch to the rush? In previous years it seemed we shut it down at the blue line and forced them wide into the boards and then into a check. This year it seems like the D is letting them around, thus crashing the net, and like last night and previous nights, the Defensemen is forced into a holding situation and thus a penalty, and unsafe situation for our goalie. Defense needs to go back to the big hitting at the blue line, like Smaby did last year to Potulny. Anyone else like these approaches, o yea, i'm done predicting scores this year.

i've never seen them during the game either, but if their there right before the game, whose to say their not there immediately after the game. That is the point in time where I would hope it would be only people who need to be there, coaches, players, trainers, and of course Tim getting us our interview.

I almost wonder if the kids may be the reason why we don't see much emotion, as if they want to keep that area rated G. It's a hockey locker room area it should be NC-17

I just have a quick question, Who are the persons standing between Jackson and Eades during warmups, are these recruits? If so how much time is spent with them before games? I feel like this is something maybe Tom Buning or some other person close to hockey operations should be dealing with. I feel like the coaches need to be spending time with the players before games and this could be a possible cause of the sad home record the past 3 years. Same with the kids. I just dont think its appropriate to have your kids around when your trying to work, just my thought to a possible problem. Most likely a long shot reasoning though.

I don't understand how a coach cannot have control of his team, its beyond me. Maybe if he raised his voice, I am still yet to hear that. It seems like him and the coaches after the games are trying to let the players down easy when sometimes you need to be blunt and say, "Finley you need to pick that (insert expletive here) guy" "Oshie sometimes you just need to shoot it" (Thought I love oshie, I'm referring to when he had the puck real low during the 2nd last night and he tried pulling across the crease and lost it rather than trying to just go high) "Lee, you need to (expletive) pay attention on the faceoffs and if you lose the zone again on a faceoff win your done." And some others, but its about time to stop letting them down easy and be tough and vocal. This is all speculative, he might be doing this, but it does not seem that way

Born a cheesehead, and attempted to be raised a Wisconsin fan while being raised in the NW Burbs of Chicago, not the city, haha. Am up here for school but will forever be a sioux fan. Saddened to see students last night loyal to their state and not to their school. When it was Illinois vs. UNC in the NCAA finals two years back, MJ wore his blue, and that is how i'll always be, loyal to my school. Go Sioux!!!

As someone who works with kids with mental retardation, I get pretty annoyed with adults who can't think of a more educated insult. Live a day in the shoes of one of my kids and maybe you'll change your outlook. I've never even seen The Triouxper have to lower himself to this level of vocabulary. (That's a compliment Triouxper! )

I'll agree with that on almost all parts. There are certain players who have the biggest heart and try day in and day out, win or lose. Duncan Oshie Watkins Miller Fabio Chorney And then there are some who are just there cause there team hasnt picked them up. Lee Finley Phil Forney Here's something I have noticed this year, throughout the game watch how this team comes out of the lockerroom, specifically the person leading them out (Phil). It's sad, no emotion, just a lack luster, "ok were doing this now" Last year, JPar would charge out of that lockerroom and leap onto the ice like every game meant something, this attitude I thought got the rest of that team going. We just don't have that team leader this year to get the group going, like JPar, Smaby, etc. Let's go boys show some emotion, this including the coaching staff
-
Ill give you credit that Chorney is playing the best of his career right now, it seems to have changed since he got that goal against CC, not saying he was playing bad, but when he hit that post, it was like he hit a new step in his career. But Radke is without a doubt the second best defensemen on this team. Followed by Chay/Bina/Lee, Jones, and Finley. I don't see how you can say that Radke should sit before any of those other players, especially Lee, Jones and Finley. I don't think Chay should be a D, though he has a great shot, he is so quick that he is better as an offensive player crashing the net. IMO
-
Do you remember what Radke did last year to the MSUM player? I believe it was two punches and the player was on the ice bleeding, and your claming this kid cannot fight. Im willing to be that Radke can hold his own with a majority of the players in the league. And I don't see where you get him out of position? He is without a doubt the most vocal defensmen, so if he does get out of position, LIKE ALL D MEN DO, he is on top of it, always skating hard back checking hard into the play and using his diaphram to help his D partner and other players what to do. In my mind a huge leader on the ice. Maybe we saw that tonight with him not being there and the D kinda of looking weak
-
imo just like hak said a period cost us the game, we were the better team for the majority of the game and lost cause we played on bad period. Anyone else think as of halfway through the season that Radke should at least have gotten a letter. I'm still kinda in shock that not one defensemen got one this year
-
As for what you said, I was at the game also: Agree with the team loss, but some weight does need to be put on phil for his play, maybe he needed this. Noticed the problem with the clearing too, just seem like they were a step ahead of us there. Guys who played well, in order: 1. Bina, the old bina was back tonight 2. Duncan, i'd time him with Bina, he to me is the player with the most heart win or lose. 3. Oshie, it says alot about his character when your season isnt going as you hoped and you keep your mouth shut and continue to skate hard every shift (unlike some professional athletes). 4. Chay and Chorney, I have liked Chorney a lot throughout his career, but he seems to have really grown since that goal against CC. Chay, who has the better shot him or his brother? 5. Lee, this was a tough one to put up, but he had some good points tonight As for players I thought struggled tonight, and as bob saget would say, in no particular order: 1. Johnny T, seemed tired early in shifts, that won't be good at practice in Calgary this coming week. 2. Joe Finley, again out of position a couple times, but I liked the "in your face, but not a goon" attitude tonight if you could call that. 3. Phil, 2 weak goals in my opinion 4. Porter, just for the stupid penalty As for in goal, I liked Grieco, there was a couple times he was out of position and fumbled with the puck, but look at JPar in his first year and a half. Grieco's first big team and he shut them out in his only period. None of his mistakes cost a goal, but they were awfully close. He learned from them all. Lastly, Dear Hak, From what it sounds this team is not practicing well, and obviously this carries over to the games. Tonight in the postgame you commented that you hope your team comes out frustrated tomorrow and pumped up. Well unless you begin to show some emotion and maybe help cause the team to get angry it wont happen. If you need help with doing this go home and watch this scene from Miracle... Herb Brooks: This is unbelievable. You guys are playing like this is some throw away game up in Rochester. Who we playing Rammer? Mike Ramsey: Sweden. Herb Brooks: Yeah. You're damn right Sweden! In the Olympics! [Turns to McClanahan] Herb Brooks: What the hell is wrong with you? Put your gear on! [pause] Herb Brooks: I said put your gear on! Rob McClanahan: Doc told me I can't play. Herb Brooks: Yeah, yeah, yeah I know. You got a bad bruise. You know what put youre street clothes on because I got no time for quitters! Mike Eruzione: Come on Herb! No body is quitting here! Herb Brooks: You worry about your own game. Plenty there to keep you busy. Herb Brooks: A bruise on the leg is a hell of a long way from the heart, candy ass. Rob McClanahan: What'd you call me? Herb Brooks: You heard me! Rob McClanahan: You want me to play huh? Is that what you want? Herb Brooks: I want you to be a hockey player! Rob McClanahan: I AM A HOCKEY PLAYER! YOU WANT ME TO PLAY ON ONE LEG? HUH? I'LL PLAY ON ONE LEG! Herb Brooks: [walking out of the locker room with McClanahan still screaming] That'll get him going Go Sioux, lets come fired up tomorrow and turn this season around, just look what are team did two years ago when Hak and the coaches fired there team up after the loss at Anchorage

IMO opinion radke is one of our best defensemen. Developed much more mentally than many other the other D. He knows where to be and when, You can't expect a D man to put up a lot of points, its not there job. What is your reasoning for you feelings, cause I just don't see it.

also is anyone really wishing that we could have done anything to keep parise here

I saw Johhny T got selected for camp, that begins on Sunday in Calgary. What does that mean for Saturday night's game, is JT in or out. I would think he'll be in both nights, but I do not know if he MUST be there on Sunday, or what time practice would be Sunday. Who knows? Just thought it would be intereresting to know. Someone call the coach's show.
