Maybe y'all bison fans wouldn't have such little man syndrome if your ad would be willing to schedule a home and home with und. Until then you can keep living in your own little world that you own.
-
Do their managers not hire ndsu football players? Shrinkage is a bitch.
-
Keep banging your chest:) So 2/3 of Fargo metro residents needed one new sweatshirt this year. Impressive!
-
Haven't seen the number. Very irrelevant either way though. Of course und's trademark sales have been down with no team name. If fighting Sioux gear was still produced I highly doubt you'd see ndsu bragging about their amazing number. But when this great number is 1/8th of what former bison make in the nfl, I guess this is a big deal to you guys.
-
He's protecting ndsu football as the #2 team in the state of nd. Do you blame him? Eventually bison football will be #3 in the state.
-
I'd take every und game on CBS!
-
Congrats to oshie on probably the biggest one man performance so far in this year's olympics! I hear NBC will be playing the ot and shootout tonight at 7pm!
-
I'd much rather watch und on CBSsn than on midco. For the few und games these guys cover they are still ahead of where hammer is.
-
And don't forget the nchc tournament. Where und will likely need at least 3 wins to hold onto their spot.
-
The jerseys are terrible. Wish they were all wearing some of the older traditional styles.
-
At the same time the bison fans that believe ndsu football bears a bigger impact on ofootball than und does to hockey are greatly mistaken. To compare und hockey to ndsu football is quite simply putting und hockey down. Und hockey>ndsu football.
-
Let's compare former und pro sport salaries vs former ndsu pro sport salaries and see who comes out ahead. Pretty sure ndsu pro sport salaries would be more comparable to lssu's. Ndsu this past season had four former players with pro contracts. Not the impact their fans think their team actually makes. Good money for those 4 sure. But not even close to former und'ers contracts.

Point taken. Also consider with a casino comes extra convention space. More convention space to compete with the community funded convention center.

Maybe I stand corrected on the hotels. I know the canad isn't locally owned and the c'mon inn is locally owned. Guess I don't know on the rest honestly.
-
Outside of retail I don't know every business that is locally owned. I know many of the restaurants are locally owned but many are also not. Not trying to stereotype but ask a local server what the Canadians are known for at restaurants. It's very common that tips from them are very low and it's also very common they complain about food or service to get free meals. Most of the money that is spent by the Canadians does not go to locally owned businesses. And most of the hotels are not locally owned. So they give the local gas stations business. But they still get out of paying sales tax. And the majority of local employees that benefit from their business are paid very little in the service and or retail industry. Now the builders and contractors do well because of the Canadian traffic. They also keep our government funded road workers busy. But who pays for that? I may not be an economics major. I just don't see how a casino in grand forks city limits could possibly benefit the community even if it was legal.
-
Curious the story here myself. To me he came off as a bit of a bully on the air. Especially with pat.
-
Many do yes. Retail side though no.
-
I can't answer all of your questions but I do know that most of the money Canadians bring into the gf area goes to national companies that normally pay their employees very little. Canadians also don't have to pay state sales tax. So I'm not sold on the fact that more Canadian traffic will boost grand forks' or nds economy.
-
I already took into consideration every home playoff game for your team in this. Sorry but that's the way it is. There are less games played in a football season so to generate more revenue you need to sell more tickets.
-
I enjoy an Indian casino probably more than most but I don't see this as a good idea for grand forks. It would further promote gambling in the community which I already believe has enough of a problem with this. So it would employ up to 600? At what pay scales/benefits? Just a guess that they'd be lower tier overall. And another guess without knowing where the profits would go, but I'd guess the city couldn't take too much (other than the sale of the land unless it's sold by a private party?). Canadians would probably consist of 50% of the business though and currently most of their money goes to the big businesses in gf(very little goes to actual local business owners/city/state). So if the casino's profits were somehow shared with our community maybe it could be a good thing! I guess I don't know without more details.

UND's #1 sport will sell approximately 65,000 more home tickets than the ag school's #1 sport for 13-14. So keep tooting your horn if it makes you feel better.
