"Culture" is a real thing and important to a program, but I wasn't meaning to specifically include that, though I suspect you knew. I don't even think players have to be especially close off the ice to have chemistry on, though that surely helps. They just need to know where each other is on the ice and be willing and able to play as one. It just happens with some groups of players-- in almost any team sport.

The thing we really have no clue about at this point (or even part way into the season) is on-ice chemistry. I don't think the importance of that is often exaggerated.

The question is not only whether juries are better fact-finders (than judges making the decisions) but also whether the public's confidence in the outcome is greater with juries. The real effect of NIL on small market schools may not be that significant (I tend to think it will be), but it may be that fan confidence (lack of) in the fairness of the system will still be a problem.
